New TV & Virgin Box
Hello.
I am considering purchasing this TV. All I want to know, is can this TV be hooked up to a standard Virgin box, as I am also going to subscribe to this service. Thanks in advance. |

As long as both have a SCART socket on the back and you have a SCART lead then they will work together.
The Virgin box will have SCART. it's not that obvious from the DABS spec if the TV has SCART, though one of the user reviews does mention it. I would be surprised if it didn't have SCART though. Maybe a look on the LG website would confirm this? As I thought the TV does have a SCART socket... http://uk.lge.com/products/model/det..._m228wa.jhtml# Last edited by chrisjr : 12-08-2008 at 11:00. Ah excellent. I read the review which mentioned the SCART connection. So this would seem a good choice then? Just buy a pair of good speakers.
Good man, well found! Thanks for that, I could not find it! Forgot it would be classed under monitor. Last edited by StarFleet : 12-08-2008 at 11:06. Reason: added my thanks. |

I have an LG TV and LG PC Monitor at home. No complaints about picture quality on either. The only reservation I would have is that 22in widescreen is a bit small, especially for a living room.
If you have been using a 21in 4:3 (ie non-widescreen) TV then you really should consider a 26in widescreen model. That will give you nearly the same image height. A 22in will be noticable smaller. Can't comment on the sound quality. My TV speakers are permanently muted and I don't think i have ever listened to them I have it plugged into the HiFi with an old but still very nice sounding pair of Monitor Audio speakers. Then again I haven't listened to TV via the built in speakers for the thick end of 30 years ![]()

Plus HDMI, not to sound rude, but is it not quite a while off being the normal standard? |
