Philip Olivier (Brookie) misquote?
From the soap headline stories...
Dean Sullivan, Suzanne Collins and Philip Olivier all featured in the plot - to be shown on November 4 - although exact details of the closing storyline are being kept under wraps. “I will miss every single member of the staff, from actors to crew members," said Olivier. "They will be in my hearts forever.” Is Phil a Time Lord ? - I think we should demand a full medical G |

So sad to see the final scenes have been filmed.
Everyone who's left is in the last episode, aswell as a few old faces apparantly. We also get to see the Brookie Parade for the last time. I wonder whats happening to the Close now? (Edit - Look at the picture HERE - all the windows are boarded up. Looks so weird.) |

But there again, I suspect fans might also be keen to live in Jimmy Corkhill's or Ron Dixon's house (wonder if they'd keep the minature white lamp post)! So sad to see the final scenes have been filmed. You could tell he was playing himself and apparently he really is that easy going amiable in real life too! I felt the soap lost something when he left. Other characters to make their mark over the years included Barry Grant, and cantankerous Harry Cross! One of Brookside's strengths was the fact that they had a great range of characters. Ah well.....farewell Brookie. You had a bloody good run, but we'll miss you. |
