Morning everyone.

I've been invited to a friends house on Saturday. I've not seen her for years although we regularly keep in touch.
Anyway, she's cooking for 6 and is making salmon en croute.

Having not tried this before I googled it Just so I knew what I was in for
But some of the recipes I've seen tell you to put prawns in it.
I HATE prawns, never tried them mind but the look of them send shivers down me and I can't imagine eating one, the thought actually makes me retch

Anyway - does anyone here make this regularly???
Is it the norm to put prawns in this dish?
I don't want to show myself up by not eating it! I've not had a good night out in a long time at the mo, and it would do me the world of good to get out but I don't want to embarass anyone by not eating it if it has prawns!

I've never come across prawns in it. I never put them in mine when I make it either. I use a mix of butter, stem ginger, currants and mace. I think it's best to ask the host before she makes it and explain that you love the dish but have an allergy to prawns and would hate to miss out. She won't be offended, in fact she'll be grateful I would have thought.

This is the recipe I use and it's brilliant!

It depends on the recipe. I have not had salmon en croute with prawns in.

The recipes online that I just read only ASDA has prawns in it.

Why not phone her up and ask? It would save the worry!

Either phone her, as Stud said, and ask her if there will be prawns in the EnCroute. If she says yes, ask her to leave them out of yours, if she can. I am sure nobody will be upset by that request.
Or, leave it, and once you start eating, and you spot a prawn, just try it. You may just like it, and if not, just leave it on the plate. There would not be more than 3 or 4 in it, anyway.

And tbh, most, if not all, bought Salmon EnCroute, which I have had, didn't have prawns in them. And when making them myself, I have never seen a receipe with them in.
