hongkongandy

Hi

Will the 9200 be effected by the Freeview update that is on at the moment?

Do I need to do anything? OR continue to watch a Great PVR!

Could you explain what you mean by "Freeview update".

I don't think Humax would fall foul of the recent rollout of the Split NIT (Network Information Table), to which I suspect Hongkongany is referring.

Some manufacturers made receivers/PVRs whose software was not designed with the split NIT in mind, even though the specification was available to them. When the transmitter is upgraded, they may crash, fail to complete a channel scan, lose channels, assign incorrect LCNs to channels, or fail to work at all.
Some of those manufacturers no longer exist to upgrade the firmware, others are blaming the transmitting bodies, and offering customers the chance to replace "faulty" equipment - at almost retail price...
