According to the story on Digitalspy, EastEnders has new Post-Production equipment. Someone please tell me this new equipment does NOT mean EastEnders will start using the vile filmic effect

Seeing what the filmic look did to Brookside (and Emmerdale for all of the 7 episodes it was used before comaplints forced it off) I don't think the producers at EE would be that stupid. If it was to be introduced, it would have been by now and hey wouldn't need new Post Production equipemnt to do it.

If EE does go filmic though, I will scream, followed by very prompt comaplints straight to the BBC, and only hope they do an Emmerdale U-Turn.

What was so bad about the filming effect? I must have missed it on Emmerdale or I didn't see the difference. I've noticed on Emmerdale though that they've started producing it differently like little bits of music here and there especially when Debbie Cain and Charity had the pinic and voice overs while they show other people.

Emmerdale used it between 17-25 October 2002, after which it was quickly dropped. The official excuse for it being dropped was "technical problems" and they said it was coming back "soon", though I think the main reason it went (and the fact it never came back) was due to complaints. What sort of technial problem would be unfixed nearly 11 months later?

I'm suprised you didn't notice it on Emmerdale. It just didn't look right, and the moans were spreading accross the internet- even on the mainly teenager occupied Pure Soap message boards.
