Hi

I would like to buy an ipod and docking station. A friend has got a Bose docking station and an ipod and I was impressed with the sound, but they are expensive. do I need to spend this amount of money to get a good sound, or are there alternatives that I could look at.

I think Logitech do some pretty decent ones at around the £100 mark.

Couple of friends have the Bose ones and they're way overpriced for what they are.

Another guy uses a cheaper one. I *think* it's a Logitech one but not sure. Either way, it sounds just as good as the Bose to me.

I just run a lead to my amp myself. It sounds far better than any of these portable efforts ....

Thanks Sancheez. The Intempo has some good reviews. I want it to be completely portable, so don't want to connect to anything else.

Think the choice is personal and dependant on what you want (DAB Radio or not). I have one of these and can highly recommend it. Had it over a year now and still going strong. You will see from the reviews on Amazon how it compares with the overpriced Bose so maybe worth a try. They used to sell them in Apple Stores but unfortunately no longer as always better if you can hear for yourself but I think its good value speaker system. Klipsch is a highly respected name in the USA just have a look at their website to see what they do. Anyway hope it helps.

I think the Klipsh units are much better than the Bose units, and are about half the price.
