I wonder if anyone can help with this, and I apologise if this problem has already been answered elsewhere.

I bought mine about 18 months ago and after about 6 months I found that, a programme I had recorded, had no preview picture in the library screen, and when I scrolled down to it the box froze and I had to switch it off to get anything to work.
I took the box back and got a replacement, the same thing has just happened to me again. I cannot delete, watch or even put the cursor over the programme in the library without the box freezing and having to be turmed off and on again.
Has anyone else had this problem, or is it just me?
Is there a way to wipe the hard drive and hopefully get rid of this programme once and for all?

Any help would be much appreciated.##
Thanks

No need to reformat.

It's a corrupt recording.

There's a new facility that was put in the last but one update that allows you to turn the Preview window off in the Library to enable you to delete the corrupted file without formatting (although there are also other work arounds to do this without formatting)

To turn of the Preview window, follow the following:

Menu
4 Setup
6 Help
1397 (on keypad for hidden engineer menu)
Scroll down to option 7 Disable Library video window
Right arrow once to change option to Yes
Back
Library
Highlight prog that's making your DTR crash, and choose to Delete it.
Job done....hopefully
