Laptop Problem - please help!

Ok, this is hard to explain, so bare with me.
Recently, when typing on our Laptop, the letters on the right-hand side of the keyboard (U, I, O, P, [, J, K, L, ;, M, ., /)
Have all been typing in the numbers/symbols in small font underneather their usual key.
We have figured out half of it already, you have to hold down the 'Fn' button when typing that letter to get it's orginal function back.
If you understand, please help!
Basically, it is replacing the letters for numbers.
It is a Sony laptop.
Any help would be much appriciated.
Thank you.

Press Num Lock?

On some laptops that converts the right hand side of the keyboard into a numeric keypad.
