We now go over to the Chinese Big Brother 4 set, situated deep inside the Shao Lin Temple, near China.

Master: "So Cameronhopper, what have you learned in the Big Brother house?"
Cameronhopper: "Och it's mental, it's flip...
Master: "Look! Cut the crap Cam, you're with me now, not the viewers, I won't ask again!!"
Cameronhopper: "Yer, it's all right. Got em thinking I know s*d all, never been off the island, don't know what a bint is, all that kinda crap"
Master: "Well done Cameronhopper! Soon you will be able to walk the rice paper and score us 70 grand for the Shao Lin Temple roof. It's in one helluva state"
Cameronhopper: "Och that's, er, I mean, Mint, no worries, sorted Master! By the way, the loot, would that be in used Yen notes, then Master"
Master: "Dollars! Idiot. Gordon Bennet! Cancel the rice paper walking, you know nowt you do you?"

(PS still IS fun!!)

Well maisy, grim et al, that reveals why you watched, or didn't you find what you were looking for.
Although you didn't ask, " nous" isn't French, it means "is all about".
Got it? If you don't understand, just go off on your own tangent - we'll all understand.
Wasn't "The Curse of Page 3" a great programme? I hope while the men were gawping or quietly appreciating, the girls were listening - hard!
Oh and Steph - you are a lovely, warm, wholesome woman. It was perhaps a little ill-advised to get so plastered so often, but there were probably mitigating circumstances and something tells me you're unlikely ever to go quite so far again. However it did prove that the camera just couldn't (or should that be didn't? - oh semantics, semantics) find an unflattering angle for you and even when you were falling-down drunk and feeling ill, you still looked beautiful. Most women just look ugly!
By the way, thanks for letting us see that in addition to being a Greek god (well maybe not Greek, but you know what I mean?); Ray has a very warm and loving heart.
P.S. Good decisions Iain and Zora!! You are a master Iain, impressively on top of the job, and impossible to keep up with.

Well, that's the end of my stream of consciousness today. See ya.

Humph I'm not one for going off on tangents really, but since you mention it lets have a go.

There are at least 2 people I can think of that are kinder and more loving than Ray if I think for longer I'll probably think of more, but I can't be arsed and besides I can't remember most of this years lot LOL!
Ray is not nice when he's drunk, steph didn't look too good when she was disposing of her access drink.

Can't think of anything else to say.

Now admit it gang, you hadn't seen most of the clips I've referred to.I only saw the end of BB3, didn't watch 1 or 2, and only got really interested in BB4 part of the way through. There clearly was a change of direction in the choice of the housemates. You were expecting an escalation and you didn't get it. Boo-hoo. Yes there were longeurs and I did often wonder what I was watching it for, but I got interested in the personalities. They were all people, who for one reason or another, were looking for some change in their lives (obviously), and took a chance. Presumably they had some idea of public reaction to previous programmes, so had set some parameters on their behaviour in their minds before entering. That doesn't mean they were playing parts, and why does Cameron have to have a dark side? He seems like a cool customer to me, who stuck to his principles. Difficult to comprehend to some it seems. Your BB4 story did make me laugh in places, but come on, have you no generosity in your hearts? What made you so sour?
Thinks....I hope I'm not like this lot when I grow up. Oh well "I'm just a girl," she said. "Talk down to me and...."

Now there's a bit of bizarre for you - just to relieve the boredom - can't wait for the reaction. Do your worst.

Now come on Grim, who were the two people. Don't keep me in suspense!!

So you can't see for yourself who the most genuine caring, decent housemates were? never mind. I will tell you though it wasn't Cameron, Steph or Ray.

I would say Scott and Jon and some of the chickens were the most altrusitic, philanthropic denizens of BB4.
Gos was, in the words of Douglas Adams, mostly harmless.
Cameron and Steph were the epitome of anthropological hypocrisy.
I know who I would rather be stuck in a lift with.

I bet ho-hum is looking in the dictionary right now to find out what philantropic means LOL!

Agree with most of that, Gos harmless, bit boring, but yeah OK I suppose.
Agree about J&S too and maybe Nush, Ok so she may have been a little false but her heart was in the right place.

As for the rest, er who were they again?

Pass!!
Well if you wanted the epitome of humankind I'd say Jon as he was the most genuine chap in there.
Scott was a good fellow too it is said by all.
I wouldn't trust Cameron with the a "5 coupon" out of a Number 6 fag packet...

Gos was a paid secret agent from BBC and ITV

Great, at last a response.
Gos was the BFG.
You know what I think about Cameron, Ray and Steph.
Jon was a gem, but he needs no help from me.
Now Scott, ah Scott. He was the one who set my heart a-flutter. Robbie Williams, and Frank Sinatra, but better, you can play their records any time; that girls, that is a real man. (Sit up straight Scott, and for God's sake, stop picking your nose and swearing, but the rest, keep on doing it.) "That's nice, that's n i c e!"
Nush = nous. What caused her to lose that petulant expression in the house? Grab him girl, grab him. Then when you're old and grey, you'll both have a picture in your mind's eye of each other when you were young, nubile and just, just delicious. "Aah maagic!"

Well that's my last word on Big Brother. It was just a phase - an aberration - a diversion. Enough! Onwards and upwards.

My wish for my fellow forum-mates is that no-one ever calls them boring - but be afraid, be very very, that's very, afraid. Oh, yes!

And the rest is silence......

drifts off into the ether never to be heard of again..........

demented murmuring....."I'm very worried about Roy. The baby, what if it's black? Aaaaargh.........

I think Ho-Dum's making the assumption we all wanted a repeat of BB3.

WRONG, WRONG, WRONG. I was praying we wouldn't have another BB3.

Too bad they didn't watch BB1 or BB2 - they would have seen entertaining housemates who didn't have the IQ of a peanut.

Anyone watching BB1 would have seen "proper" tasks, sensible privations and food budgets and booze, great care for the chickens (ok Marjorie was a good chicken too) and they all created their own contretemps without Endemol going OTT.
I thought the divide was gimmicky (and a turn off) by BB3 but BB4 was bitty and poorly thought out, even down to the preordained winner.
To think, of all the people they interviewed, whittled down, tested, auditioned, for months, and they CHOOSE, yes CHOOSE, someone like Gos? Eh? What? They could have put a cardboard cut out in with more life in it! Or a tramp's vest!!
What WERE they thinking????????
At least they proved now that by going against their own advice of "putting in a boring bible basher" (their words re BB1 and BB3) was a mistake for those of us who like to watch people having fun and not sermons. Well done endemol. Hope the dvd sales make up for the loss of viewers, votes, interest, phone revenue, media praise etc.
