Hi I am looking into purchasing the SE W910i however a few people have warned me off getting the phone as it supposedly crashes and freezes. Is this true or is it only the early softwares that do this?

Thanks in advance

only the early ones that were like that, if yiu do get a "old" one, simply go to the sony site and do the latest software update, will take you 2 mins

I got one about 3 weeks ago and it is fine (ooops - early days - touch wood )

Only two things that bother me:

I find texting a pain as the keyboards is too flat and wide (small hands)

The battery seems to need recharging constantly.

Apart form that it is a nice phone and a vast improvement on my old SE.

One of my friends is now on her 6th due to lockups and freezes etc. From her experience I would avoid it like the plague. However, no doubt many people have had no problems at all. Luck of the draw I suppose.

I actually went from the K850i to the W910. Although the latter's camera isn't the best on the market (2mp) it's certainly not the worst.

The phone is nice and light and fits comfortably in your hand. In fact it could be said it's a little too light - it feels a bit plastic and cheap but nothing that would spoil your use of the phone.

I agree with marling about the keyboard, it's too flat and is the phone's downfall. I make too many mistakes when texting because of it.

The battery is pretty poor, at least with the N95 you have the excuse of the OS draining the battery but there is no real excuse for it on the W910.

All in all I'd give the W910 8 out of 10 - it's a music phone of course and you won't find many better handsets for that purpose, just don't expect anything other than tinny sound from the external speaker.
