Rewind/Buffer problem

Hello everyone, I have had a 9300 now for just over 2 years, it has the latest software update and has been running well............until about 3 days ago when the rewind feature stopped working, that is to say when watching live tv if i try to rewind into the buffer the picture just jumps around all over the place (ie. to the beginning of the buffer or right to the end of it or just freezes the picture on screen) and is basically unusable . All other features are working normally, timed recording/series linked recording etc.

I have done a search trying to find a similar problem in the forums but cant find this specific problem, does anyone know if the buffer is stored on the hard disk (and this is the problem) or if it is in a solid state memory.

Typical luck its just happened as the warranty has expired, i could try a disk format but there are a lot of programs stored on the HDD which i still have to watch so am reluctant to do this if anyone has any ideas first.
Thanks in advance for any help.

The buffer is stored on the hard disk. This sounds like a corrupt file system; there have been a few similar reports. The only fix is to reformat the disk at a convenient time.
