Seriously, it may still be coincidence. My own view really is that each time there has been a new software version the background of unsolved bugs may be obscuring its effects, after all v.2.93 has been said
only to be for dealing with NIT
In spite of various upgrades it has been very well established that the software is still faulty, but we have been advised by people who know as well as TUTV representatives that an 'ultimate upgrade' is definitely in the pipeline. While it is certainly possible that new probs have been introduced, 2.93 was only an interim measure
The most remarkable thing is that experience of any software (or anything else) demonstrates how few people can make anything very reliable, and it is usually not a person but a team!
Even Microsoft, with all its resources cannot manage to achieve reliability, ok it may have chosen to overcomplicate things for its own purposes, but the more is offered the greater the risk of breakdown and improvement takes time. (Pity about Vista and Explorer 7 though)
We have just got some remotely controlled power plugs, so if we wake up to find anything has crashed again we can just press a couple of buttons, from the habitual reclining position, to reset the boxes instead of grovelling and scabbling around to find a switch.
Much cheaper than buying a different box, and less painful than finding its functions are not so good
Relax, enjoy, and roll on the 'final solution'!!
