I have a bit of a dilemma at the moment. Im on O2 PAYG with the talkalot tariff (with text anytime) and i had O2 Numbers but as more and more people i know seem to be leaving O2 and i only know 2 people on it now, i have had to cancel O2 numbers. Now i'm starting to wonder if its worth changing as it doesnt seem worthwhile sticking around just for the free texts and paying 25p to phone people on other networks! So the advice i need is what network currently has the best deal on payg? Remember when posting that it has to be payg only, NO CONTRACT DEALS PLEASE!!

i would go for 3 you can pick your mins texts and you get free voicemail, ebay, msn plus they are the cheapest to call other networks http://www.three.co.uk/personal/pric..._go_/index.omp http://www.three.co.uk/personal/pric...o_/stretch.omp

Orange do a flat rate tariff where all calls are 15p/min no matter what network you're calling, plus topping up gets you varying amounts of free texts.
Why not a contract though? If it's a long commitment you don't want then O2 do a REALLY good 30 day sim only deal.
Other than that it really depends on your usage as to what network/tariff on PAYG you need.

Many reasons why not contract:

1. dont like them
2. cant pay for one (bank account wont allow it)
3. already looked into it
4. like to know i cant spend what i havent got
5. like to know what i'm spending and when

Right, well then it all depends on your usage as to which deal you go for, and at the moment only you know that.

Well i would pick one of these 3 deals...

Three sounds good with their Flat12 and Stretch (but to use 3 i'd have to unlock my K800i)

Orange with their Canary tariff (free evening and weekend calls) and for this i could use the Nokia 3220 i have kicking about which is already unlocked

And then there's T-Mobile with their stretch and everyone tariff which i could also use in the unlocked Nokia

you can unlock the K800i in the market or online or in one of these cheap Indian shops for not much. http://www.unlocksearch.com/unlock-S...FQyI1Qod933UgA

Yeah, I came across this brand new (launched 8th Aug) Ikea owned network after i'd posted earlier. Seems cheap enough and runs on the T-Mobile network so should be reliable.

Yeah its really good value and i like the idea of a family account where the kids accounts stop after credit runs out problem is though most people i know are on contract (including myself) and so they wont be able to sign up i hope it lasts unlike easyMobile

Just found out you need a debit card to register, that's that out the window then.

Have you looked into T-Mobile's U-FIX contracts? They're a combination between PAYG and contract, if your included minutes and texts are expired, you need to top up your phone like a pay as you go phone before you can make calls.

Yep and it just says insert correct sim card. And i was also wondering if anyone here is on T-Mobile payg with stretch or knows anyone who is and what its actually like? 15p/min is not bad and certainly better than O2's 25p/min xnet charge!

Stretch only works once you have registered. Top up £10 during the week, and you get an extra £10 to use at the weekend. You lose what's left at midnight on Sunday night.

Here are some good deals offered by the networks.

Orange Magic Numbers (best deal)
20p per hour calls to 3 other Orange phones when you top up by at least £10 in one month. This can work out cheaper than Vodafone Family.

Bumper Bonus - you also get a choice of 300 texts or 120 evening and weekend minutes.

o2 Unlimited (good deal)
Unlimited calls and texts to other o2 phones when you top up by at least £15 a month.

Vodafone Family (nice deal)
Unlimited calls between 5 people on Vodafone when just one of those 5 pays £5 a month. The money is deducted from any remaining calling credit.

Tesco Favourite Numbers (fair deal)
5p texts and 10p calls to 3 numbers on any network. No charge is necessary - just top up.

You get much more for your money on contract. For example:

A £20 top up on Orange buys you:

or
Roll-Over Texts: 200
or
Roll-Over Voicemail: 200 calls
or
Roll-Over Customer Service Calls: 80
or
Roll-Over Minutes (to 3 Orange Numbers): 6000 Minutes
and
Monthly Texts: 600

A £20 monthly charge on o2 buys you:

o2 Simplicity
Minutes: 6000
and
Texts: 1000
and
Voicemail: Unlimited
and
Customer Service: Unlimited Calls
and
Unlimited landline, internet, texts Weekend or o2 to o2 calls
