Grrr! Asda's frozen sprouts
Asda's frozen sprouts have ruined our Sunday dinner. I just long for the season of fresh sprouts and bought a bag of frozen ones but yuk they were soily and horrible. I still have the receipt and they are going back tomorrow!
End of rant grrrr. |

Sprouts aren't in season now. They're a wintertime crop.

I bought some frozen tesco sprouts once to make bubble and squeak .... and they were blummin awful. Watery, no taste and plain horrid.

Yes I have learnt my lesson now - no frozen sprouts, wait for the winter for fresh. Who buys them?

I like em! In Suffolk you can buy them on stalks.

I found out long ago that frozen sprouts are nasty.
I'm looking forward to eating fresh sprouts again. I think they start appearing in the shops from late October. I wonder which planet Sainsbury's import their's from if they have them now? |

I bought fresh prepared sprouts in Asda a fortnight ago. Pricey at £1.48 for a small bag, but so delicious. I love sprouts but would rather do without than buy frozen ones.

Seemed a bit pricey so I moved on.

I don't like any of asda's frozen veg, it always tastes of nothing.

Take it you don't like other supermarkets veg, as many are packed for them by a well known frozen food company.

Probably true, I live next door to ADSA so I only shop there.
I've had no problems with the smart price cauliflower, sweetcorn, broccoli, though I can understand that with all veg quality can vary due to weather conditions, I've tried Asda's next range up when the smart price hasn't been available or they don't do it in smart price range and most have been OK, though as above I suppose weather can make a difference. |

I don't buy any veg that is frozen apart from pea's.
It doesn't have much flavour in comparison to fresh veg. |
