Hello!

My girlfriend got a Nokia 6220 Classic on 3 2 weeks ago and it has been nothing but trouble trying to get it connected.

It won't connect to Planet 3 or any other website - it says "Packet data not available" or something similar. It is unable to send or receive MMS messages and won't do video calling.

We've already tried calling 3 customer services and asking them to resend the connection settings to the phone via teext message. NAd today we took it back and got it exchanged for a new one but are having the same problems.

Is there something I am missing? We have plenty of signal so it doesn't look like that and the chap in the 3 store said that he had none returned so far but he would ask the Nokia rep if there were any reported problems.

I've tried searching on Google but all I can find are reviews of the phone, nothing about getting it set up correctly.

The 3 customer service people have been no help at all!

Any ideas, I'd appreciate!!

No video calling could easily be related to 3G network signal. If its only connecting on 2G then you won't have that ability.

Been using one for a while (not on 3 though), and had no connection/MMS related issues.

its definitely not the network signal. We have a 3g signal where we are, it says so on the screen.

After larking about with 3 customer services for ages this afternoon they seem to think it may be the SIM card. After all, it is the only common component from both phones we've had.

Is a faulty SIM likely to not allow you to do data connections?

They've asked us to go back to a 3 store, as if we can put our SIM in one of their phones they have on display, if we still cannot connect to Planet 3 or anything else they will send us out a new SIM.

If this doesn't work I don't know what else it can be.
