Dect Advice Please
DECT advise please
Hi Please forgive me if this is posted in the wrong place....... I bought a BT On-Air 1250 classic from eBay and it is causing quite a problems. Plug it in by itself and it works. Plug in anything else with a multi socket and the integrated answering machine picks up and won't take a message! I understand about REN=1 ect. I do not have ADSL and all my other phones, modems ect function correctly. I phoned up BT helpline and they said " We reccomend for use solely on a BT line with no extensions cables or splitters" Typical get out of all clause.............. I would be very gratefull if someone could catagorically say that it is the phone here so that I could just get another one but I wonder if this may be something to do with analogue lines and digital phones. Maybe an ADSL filter would help? Maybe I need help ) |

Re: Dect Advice Please
Do you need the external answering machine with BT Callminder?
The REN (Ringer Equivalent Number) limit is 4 - check the device ratings, and make sure there's no more than 4! Try having an extra socket fitted? Are there any other phone sockets in the house? |
