The same Samsung J700 is £20 more on Virgin than on Vodafone. Any ideas why that is?

Thanks

Some mobile companies subsidise the handsets,to get you on their network virgin mobile have really lowered handset subsidies relatively recently , and obviously as well, the handset prices will be dependant on in some cases your priceplan,as the less you spend means the networks will not get a return on heavily subsidised handsets.

Hope the above is useful.richard.

Here is an example of companies slashing handset subsidies.

Voda have the benefit of being able to buy in bigger numbers which means a lower cost per unit.

So if you are on T-Mobile and the handset is £70 to buy, or £50 on Vodafone + £10 to unlock it, you buy the Vodafone one and trouser a tenner?
Obvoiusly you're stuck with the vodafone branding but that's just cosmetic.
