The BB conspiracy theory thread

Ok, so maybe BB was fixed for Cameron to win. Maybe because Endemol's producers had a 30 to 1 bet on. Or maybe because "naive orkney virgin boy" would be a more headlining winner than a "lad" or "nerd" winning. Or maybe just because they got a kick out of manipulating the public. Or maybe, like ben4321 thinks, anyone who doesn't loath Cameron with a passion, is immensely stupid, and therefore couldn't help themselves voting for him (and no, I didn't vote for him ).

Or maybe it wasn't fixed, maybe it was because he got to go to South Africa, and got a sufficent boost from publicity to win. BUT MAYBE it was fixed for him to go!!! Or maybe not. ARRRGGHHHH, OCHHH NOOO!!!! Gosh, it's all so confusing .

Anyway, there seems to be more conspiracies flying around these forums than I've had hot dinners, and certainly more than Camerons had hot women. Some of them have good arguments behind them, like the ones above, others seem to me completely barmy. But this forum just wouldn't be the same without them, I love em! (especially the mad ones).

Sooooooo, I thought I'd start a BB conspiracy thread, go on, post your best or maddest one, you know you want to

Insomnia's a bitch.....

Ok, I think Jon was put in the house to boost the sales of mature chedder, Eagles records and black bin liners.

There you go, just to start off, I'm sure anyone can do better than that

Well I guess from my overall tone, that you might think I was suggesting that I'd believe any of them, but I did say "Some of them have good arguments behind them", and if you look carefully, I didn't say it WASN'T fixed to let Cameron win, I think maybe to an extent Cameron might have been helped in certain episodes, but I'm just not convinced it was a total fix. I still have an open mind on the issue.

Anyway, I didn't really intend this to be a "It was fixed for Cameron to win" thread, that's been done to death aready

It's okay DryHumper,..I wasn't directing my post toward you.
I wasn't judging your tone, or thinking you were suggesting anything in particular.
I was just following your lead and throwing something into the mix.

Anyway, I didn't really intend this to be a "It was fixed for Cameron to win" thread, that's been done to death aready

I know you didn't.
And neither did I intend to do so either.

I was being very general.”

A bit jumpy aren't you DryHumper?
Don't worry, there's no conspiracy against you.

The example I provided wasn't supposed to be just about Big Brother,.it was meant in a more general context.

To elaborate on this a bit, and maybe clarify what I'm getting at here,...
...is that I believe that in many cases, people who want to try and cover up a conspiracy, will try to deflect suspicion away from their conspiracy by using wordplay to undermine doubts and suspicions, and generally mislead.
The simplest way of doing this, is by labelling suspicions and accusations with the tag "Conspiracy Theory"

The term "Conspiracy Theory" has somehow been given negative connatations. It shouldn't have.
For somebody to have a theory that there is a conspiracy, can be perfectly valid.
But as soon as you accuse somebody of having a "Conspiracy Theory", the meaning has changed somewhat,..and you make it sound as though they are talking BS,..and in many people's eyes that view has been undermined.

Quite often, "Conspiracy Theory" is a term used to undermine doubts and suspicions, and ridicule the accuser.
It's a cheap and easy trick to help get yourself out of a tight spot when you're being challenged with difficult questions.

If the police suspect that a criminal organisation is planning to set up an scheme where they smuggle a hundreds of illegal immigrants into the country,.....you don't just laugh at the police and say.."Ha ha....you're just a load of conspiracy theorists"..
..No of course you don't. You just let them investigate the matter, without dismissing the idea immediately.

That's why the term "Conspiracy Theory" is so weighted, and loaded with hidden power, many people are influenced by the people who use it.
If people are fooled by this,..well as far as I'm concerned, it shows a lazy way of thinking.

That's the whole point of my original sentence,....using the term "Conspiracy Theory" as a defence mechanism, can often be part of a conspiracy in itself.

Deffo a betting betting scam, heck how is the the owner of Endemol going to afford to buy Man Utd.

Mind you I did think at the time it was a joint operation between the Mafia, Malayan betting magnet, the CIA and MI5. How on earth can you believe that the last 4 were who they were.

Mafia was backing Steph as a good potential momma, showing how they think women ought to act.

The Malayans had an absolute fortune on Scott, cos no one saw him till week 7 and the odds were absolutely huge by week 2, BTW they are still very p****d off about it.

CIA wanted Ray to win cos of some very hush hush manipulation of the Irish question and rooting out not very nice people. Probably involved Dallas in November 1963 as well...... it usually has anyway.

How the heck MI5 got their option to win is a total mystery, they must have some cracking photos of George W. or something.

Heck it was all daft anyway, BTW it has finished and we should just hope the BB5 is a million times better.

Well I know this much..
Dave Hill of Slade played the part of Steph this year
They put Sissy in hoping she would do that tug-of-war pose that ensured we all saw the Sissy Spacek connection.
Obviously Gos was played by South Park Chef!

But from day 1 "they" put it about that Scott was odds on to win and Cameron was an outsider. You can see how the betting goes here, can't you? Then, the scripted "you play the boy brought up by wolves" bit Cameron and we lob in a token tart, slapper, hippy, brainbox etc...one of each, whatever!
THEN, when we are all safely innured to Scott winning we bump up the Cameroon footage....NEXT brief:
"Ok. Look, we have to get it to look like Cameroon just HAPPENED upon being offered the S Africa job, we need to boost our crap ratings..."
"OK, if HE answers the call to the Diary Room, offer him it. Anyone else gets there first, ask em about their bowel movements or something."
"Ok. And as a clincher, ensure he gets two weeks free from nominations."
"Won't that look a bit blatant-like-obvious?"
"Yes but this is money we are talking about here...."

Not that I saw a conspiracy,me. AT all. No. Not me.

Perhaps it never happened at all

It was rigged up in a studio

Did anyone notice the strange shadows cast by the so-called 'sunlight' in the garden ?

Ah ha !!
maisymoo
15-09-2003
Yes and some of the shadows pointed in different directions
And where were the stars in the sky?

And I swear 1/6 gravity would make you be able to jump higher than Lisa in a foam horse cozzy......

About 2 or 3 weeks into BB someone posted a really good thread about how this years BB was geared(by the producers) for someone like Cameron to win it. I cant remember the thread now though ;(

It was evident that about 2 to 3 weeks in Cameron was Endemol's man. Why they (producers) went along those lines is beyond me as in BB1 and BB3 they stated quite blatently their desire not to have "overtly religious folk in as they will be a turn off".
Why they didn't promote Jon is beyond me. They sort of knew they'd messed up by allowing him a second bite but I think the restrictions imposed on Jon made it a non-event. We all thought he was going to be allowed to reveal Cam the sham but Jon being a really nice guy maybe couldn't or wasn't allowed to open up.
I wish I knew the answer to that.

I don't know if it was the same one, but at the time, the board was mainly thinking BB was against Jon.
I think I was the first to shift focus, and started a thread to suggest that it wasn't about Jon at all,..but it was all about promoting Cameron.
Was that the one?
I know Eejay did one shortly after about "Why" they might pick Cameron.

No reading your post again,...I think it was definitely Eejay's post you are referring to.

Actually I noticed a few cutbacks, I seem to remember an issue was made of never seeing Camerons chest. I guess budget constraints meant it couldn't be rendered

Well, whoever he/she was, we should be paying attention to what they say about who's gonna win BB5, and take a wander over to ladbrokes.com . Keep it a secret though, else it'll bugger the odds

Someone should start a "whos Edemols pick this year" thread when BB5 starts.

It was probably someone from C4/Endemol who planted the idea on here to get us all talking about it.

it's a conspiracy I tell you

heh

I think BB5 will be sponsored by Lynx for men, 1 of the guys who comes in the house will be the ugliest guy you've ever seen, and be 10x more nerdy than Jon could ever manage. All the females in the house will declare how repulsive he is.

Then he'll say "damn, where did I put my LYNX deodorant, I know I brought it in here with me. Ah! Here it is!". Spray it on, the patented LYNX EFFECT will then kick in, and he will then become instantly cool and all six girls will then have an all night romp with him in the double bed, while the other boys sulk in the garden.

Lynx sales will then go through the roof the day after.

P.S. Dont forget Rays sponsorship by Kleenex this year
