I just got a cheap bottle of Villa Radiosa, Valpolicella 2006.

I've had it before, easy drinking red but the bottle I have opened tonight (exactly the same make as before) has an odd little fizz to it, does anyone know why that might be?

I googled this and the only thing i can find regarding wine with bubbles/slight fizz is that it is going through secondary fermentation.

Maybe this is what has happened to yours ???

Sounds like it is going off.. Fermenting in the bottle is not good for wine that isn't made to do so..

if it tastes OK, drink it, if not chuck it away.

not really a problem

Anyway, one of the nicest wines (but not for every day drinking) is a sparkling shiraz

Thanks for the replies guys

I returned the bottles to the shop and they were fine with swapping them.

Funnily enough I ended up switching them for two Shiraz Scilia, both tasting as they should. No fizz!

Nikk/Zen My sister suggested they were fermenting in the bottle, they really were vile
