Blank screen when a recording starts on 9300

Anyone else getting this? If a recording is scheduled to start, the screen goes blank monumentary. My 9300 is connected via HDMI to a Toshiba 37X3030D. It does return more or less straight away, but it is most disconcerting when it occurs.

Did you mean momentarily?
Is the blank screen displayed for the equivalent time to the 9200's recording by reservation banner, and can you try it connected via scart to see if the same happens?

I noticed my 9200 do this over the weekend but it was already recording something else at the time. I think this is the condition when it happened, or it could have been when I pressed Record while it was recording something else. I certainly aint going to lose any sleep over it.

It doesn't happen by scart nvingo as I did have it connected by scart at first. Yes it is about the same amount of time as the reservation banner.

I've noticed it on my 9200 on v.21 a few times. I don't remember the detailed scenario at the time.

It doesn’t seem to have any detrimental effect, the recordings are fine.

I think it happens when a second recording starts and the machine is sorting out which tuner to use. If the channel you are watching is not on the same mux as one of the recordings, then the screen goes blank permanently and the message "this channel is restricted by recording" appears.

Does sound like tuner management. The PVR is capable of letting you watch a third live channel while it records two others. Maybe it has a policy of performing certain tricks with the tuners depending on whats been going on to maximise this possibility without the user having to do anything.

Thanks for that marc, but I never had this blank screen when I owned a 9200t. Yes I did used to receive the messages if I happened to be watching a channel on a different mux to the ones that were going to be recorded, but not this blank screen! Okay it only happens for a few seconds, but to me it shouldn't if the 9200t didn't do it.

Correct - this has always been the case with the 9200T when a second recording starts, so the 9300 is not any different (not surprising considering it and the 9150 uses the same software.....more or less)
