Can anyone suggest a cinema surround system WITHOUT the DVD. I already own an upscaling 1080p dvd player (which I'm happy with) and a ps3 so just require the 5.1 sound now.

I already own an awesome sony dz500 dvd cinema surround but the picture isn't the best now using a HD display especially compared to the ps3 and upscaling dvd player. Also there's only one input on the dz500 so it doesn't suit my needs anymore.

I also hope to get sky HD in the next 12 months so I'm gonna need a few inputs.

BTW, if anyone is wondering why I have an upscaling dvd player when the ps3 does a perfectly good job, it's just to save on the ps3 wear and tear plus the fan does my head in when watching films

A home cinema surround system without the DVD is not a home cinema surround system. It's an AV amp and speakers. And there are hundreds (if not thousands) to choose from at Richer Sounds, or on Amazon, or on ebay, or at any other electrical retailer. They will also offer far better connectivity than an all-in-one in terms of optical and coaxial and HDMI inputs for all your different pieces of kit with digital audio connections.

Richer Sounds do some cheaper units from Yamaha and Sony prices around £120.

You will of course need speakers, you can purchase these separately or go for a package, prices start from under £100. If you were to go for one of the amps from Denon or Onkyo I would recommend looking at speakers/packages from £250 upwards to get the best out of the equipment.
