I have a shop nearby, i think it's Russian, that sells a whole load of different Eastern European food. Being a fan of Chorizo, Biltong, Beef Jerky etc, can anyone recommend anything i should look for or ask after in there? They seem to have a nice selection of dried meats and a whole load of other food i've never seen before.

And just why we're on the subject - Chorizo is neither Eastern European or Russian

Polish food is very nice - especially the soups. A lot more wholesome and filling than ones over here

Polish kabanos and krakowska are worth getting if you like sausages.

Polish wiejska is very nice, as is Russian vobla (salt-cured fish). Kabanos is dried sausage, so you might like that.

Then there's studen (jellied meat).

I wouldn't buy any pre-packaged soups like schchi (cabbage), or borschsh (beetroot) because they are really easy to make yourself, but botvinya is worth it.

Kefir is a nice (milk) drink, as is kvass is quite.

Several people I know seem to favour food from countries such as Poland and Russia.

I love trying different world foods but as a vegetarian the range I find does nothing to entice me to buy - any recommendations for my diet?

Oh yeah, you reckon? Well THIS: http://i42.tinypic.com/2a5fxow.jpg proves otherwise, thus rendering your "<name of country> is better than us at this" propaganda null and void!
