Unable to play macrovision enabled dvds via component

As the title suggests I have attempted to play a macrovision encoded dvd connected to my projector via component, composite is fine. I am using a Packard Bell EHR 250. Anyone know if there are any "get arounds" for such a problem as I was looking forward to using a component output.

What happens when you attempt it?.

I don't see why Macrovision would affect Component, unless your player blanks off Component for any protected discs?.

Well, this what appears to happen. It is fine if I play something recorded on the machine's harddrive or dvd but when I put a copyrighted dvd in, I hear the sound but the screen is blank. If I put one of my Russian dvd's in which don't appear to have copyright, they're fine. However, when I connect the component on another dvd player I have and play a commercial disc, all is fine. Hence my suspicion about the Packard Bell player.

I would suggest your DVD player is duff then, possibly it has a 'bug' and requires the software updating? - if such updates are available?.

You could try ripping copies with DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink if needed. They will be macrovision free.
