Guideplus

I see from this thread
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s...=705996&page=2
that at least one other person is having trouble with Guideplus not updating overnight. I have checked all the settings and am sure that they are OK. Is this a problem with Guideplus or Sony machines (I have the 970)

I have the 870, and it hasn't updated for the past few days. I've been using analogue ITV as the host channel, but today have changed it to Eurosport channel on my freeSky, as I seem to have access to the teletext feed there.

I'll know tomorrow if it's starting to work.

@thesquare

As I mentioned in the above linked thread.
The host channel had been changed to digital ITV(003),from analogue ITV(03).
Recheck that the correct ITV(analogue) is set to ON,in the channel editor.
Manually change the host channel to analogue ITV,rather than leaving it on Automatic(that always takes far longer to download listings,in my experience)
Having reset Guideplus and unplugging the Sony 870,and leaving it in standby for most of today,it has now downloaded listings.
It would seem,its a Guideplus issue,I guess.

Mine is always set to manual host channel, so it was still set to analogue 03 when it stopped updating about a week ago.

Since yesterday, when I changed the host to Eurosport on Sky 410, it has updated the full 7-day listings overnight, although I would prefer to use analogue ITV, and will probably try changing back again soon.

Having checked,it has downloaded further listings overnight(from analogue ITV).
However the Guideplus info page is still not displaying correctly the downloaded files information,e.g normally125/125
Instead its still showing 235/0.
So its seems,there's still an issue remaining.
Lets hope Guideplus sort the problem asap.

@dieselglider

Are you receiving teletext on the analogue channels?
Secondly,did you get the warning,about no listings had been downloaded,at the top of the Guide page?
Thanks.

Hi, yes, I'm getting very good teletext on ITV, and was also getting a scrolling message at the top of the Guide page about the updates being unsuccessful.

I wish too, that Guideplus would get their Sky channel numbers sorted. Other than that, I love it!

By way of an update to my original posting, I did a complete new set up and then unplugged the recorder from the mains for 10 seconds and reconnected it to reboot and it is now downloading guideplus again correctly. Unfortunately, that doesn't exactly pinpoint the problem as it could have been my set up or it could just be that the recorder needed a reboot or it could be a guideplus problem. Whatever the explanation, it seems to be OK now.

Thanks for that link,m0bov.
Well,at least its reassuring that its a Guideplus issue,rather than individual receivers.
Unlike the rest of you,I've got no teletext on any of the five analogue channels,on my Sony 870.
Teletext is working fine on the five analogue channels on the tv(which is connected to the same aerial,as the Sony 870)

I added to the thread mentioned by thesquare - no update to Guide plus since last Friday - well it has now updated overnight / today (Weds) and has full listings up to next Tues.

I have made no changes / or reset ( not wanting to lose Schedules) and it seems to have fixed itself - although I observe the same issue as TV DUNIYA where the 'files' is showing as 834/0 - normally these two numbers are the same after a successful update.

With reference to m0bov's link to Pioneer problems - I had loads of problems with a Pioneer
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s...d.php?t=639591

eventually returned under warranty to amazon and swapped for the Sony 870

Something else,I've noticed is that the Videoplus numbers which used to be listed,besides each programme(when pressing info button,whilst in the guide),are missing.
