Advice about buying a Video MP3 player

Hey, I'm thinking about buying a video mp3 player, basically want to watch stuff at work during my lunch hour.

What I really want to do is be able to rip stuff from my DVD collection into Avi/Divx and put them onto it. Not whole films but clips from them or a whole episode of The Simpsons say. Yes I know what your going to say but not interested in buying a phone that does that just what a video mp3 player that I can put my existing mp3s on and rip clips/stuff from dvd's to avi/divx and play those.

'THINKING' about (and I use the word thinking strongly) about this one

but I'll shop around won't buy the first one I see. £100 is about my price, but any advice from people would be nice

sony nwz-818 will do that, similar screen size (bit small for vid really - but the children seem to like it) - 8gb for about £70 from amazon - got 2 of them in the family
the ipod video convertor HERE works well to convert files - did a lot of divx myself

edit:
just lookin on amazon to get a you a link - i don;t believe amazon pricing - now quoting £130 !!!
I got the second one from them just 2 weeks ago £69 - now thats what you call inflation

edit2
now see thats now from amazon but some 3rd party seller - before amazon were selling it direct
play have it for £74

Seeing as you've posted this in two different forums, , I'll just post a link to my reply in your other, identical, thread ...

If you want something with a large screen I recommend the Archos series of PMPs.

If you want it to be primarily an mp3 player that does some video and are happy with the smaller screen size then look at the Creative Zen.
