B&O remote and blu ray players
I have a B&O TV and the beovision 5 remote, I know the PS3 blu ray player is compatible with this remote. Are there any dedicated blu ray players only (as opposed to a mixture of game console/player) that are also compatible with this remote controller?
Thanks |

I think you'll struggle to find a non-B&O product compatible with the Beo5 remote.
The reason is that the Beo5 remote is adaptive - i.e. the button names and functions change as you do different activities. This adaptive response is programmed to work only with B&O equipment. It doesn't work with other manufacturers products. The remote is configured by the B&O dealer according to the B&O kit you have. If you change any component for a new B&O model then the remote has to be reprogrammed to accommodate those changes. This leave you with two choices:

buy a non-B&O Bluray and use its own remote
pony up for a B&O Bluray (if one exists) and have the Beo5 reprogrammed.
There is a third option, but I bet it will work out more expensive than buying a B&O Bluray. Thanks Chris, that B&O remote is a pain to use, if you have fat fingers like me, you end up getting all sorts of problems.I am thinking of going back to the shop and exchanging it for the standard remote.
Moral of this story.......Looks aren't everything |
