Stands for a centre speaker?

Hi,

I am able to get speaker stands for my 4 surround speakers as they have a mounting hole on the back...

However, the centre speaker does not have a mounting hole?

Would you think a universal stand such as this:

Would be able to mount the speaker without a mounting hole?

My centre speaker is stood on top of the TV. I would not have thought of siting it anywhere else.

We have a new HD LCD tv on the way which will be wall mounted at an angle...

I presume the LCD will be too thin to hold the centre speaker?

Well, only you can answer your own question.

I have my TV on a free standing shelf, which is on my equipment stand. The speaker goes on top of the equipment stand, below the TV shelf.

If you're an audiophile, you can put vibration absorbtion feet (blue tack would work) on the bottom of the speaker itself - or on a heavy base, such as a marble top and spikes in the bottom of the speaker.

But you might be just as well served with a small shelf below the TV for it - partly because you must be angling the TV downwards. Many free standing TV mounts have a few shelfs for the center speaker and other bits and pieces.

You can if it is a Next rebadged as Mission flat speaker. But mine blow up during the Battle of Helms Deep and I replaced it with a chunky Mission C1 which sits on my (t)rusty old CRT.

for a really classy looking finish, buy a floating glass shelf fit and mount it under the TV.
I think i got it from homebase for about £40, the glass is about 12mm thick and about 150mm wide from front to wall, then you can do what i did and run the centre speaker wire inside the wall. All you can see is the speaker itself and the edge of the glass which isnt really noticable.
All you got to do is prove to the missus that you can put a shelf up level and then relax in front of it with a nice glass of beer.

Its an old CRT haha.

I'm thinking of getting this http://www.johnlewis.com/230220755/Product.aspx

Which attatches to the rest of the wall mount gear and sit the centre speaker on it as close to the bottom as the TV as poss.

Will it sound strange being below the TV? The surrounds and left and right speakers would all be above... would the centre speaker being below sound "wrong"?
