problems with photo's

Have been to Oz took lots of photos and filled memery card up so went to camera shop and had the card emptied onto a disk when got back home although thumbnails are complete but when files opened, the photo's are only part of picture is visible. Came anybody help with a solution. Many Thanks

What are you opening them with?

It sounds obvious, but are you shrinking them to view them full screen?

If they were taken with a 6mp camera, the untouched photo will be way bigger than your screen so unless you resize them as you open them (to use the full screen, but no more) then you'll have to scroll about to view it.

Personally, I use irfanview with my photos.

Small, free, simple, and does everything I need it to.

I was using windows pic and fax viewer have downloaded irfanview but same result it is just displaying the top two inches but this varies each time. Many Thanks Thou.

I've sometimes had that problem with a few corrupt images from my camera

Nothing will read them. Windows picture viewer says preview not available, but the thumbnail shows up under properties in explorer!!!

Yeah ... it does sound like the images are currupted.

Never tried to recover photos before. If you have a decent independant anywhere near you thats any good with digitals, might be worth taking it to them to see if they have any specialist recovery software or anything? You never know ...

Its worth asking in Jessops, sometimes some staff with the know-how can recover lost pictures.
