Pictures corrupt on camera
B599 SWX

Here's an interesting problem.
I have a Fuji F10 and a 1Gb M XD card.

I have always had a problem where every so often, 10 or so pictures or movies just corrupt on the camera.
I just put it down to the camera not being fully compatible with the card.

Similarly, Ive filled the entire card in one day and when returning back to the computer, only the last 10 pictures are visible on the card, despite the card being full.
CHKDSK usually sorts that out and I rename all the lost files.

However today the camera told me there was a "write problem" and ive never seen this before.
The last dozen or so pictures and videos taken before this error are all corrupted and unreadable.

Normally I just ignore the lost pictures because I take so many anyway i'm not bothered with losing 10% of my pictures.

I can reformat on the computer and everything is okay for a while.

Strangely enough, I have most problems if I have looked through the pictures on the camera itself.

I normally format the card as FAT32 rather than just FAT because it seems more stable than using FAT.

Is the card faulty; is the camera not up to scratch?
Has anyone else had these problems?

I'll probably buy a cheap card off ebay or something just to see if it works properly.

Thanks for reading.

Take the hints and replace the card with a card from a quality manufacturer. Sandisk would be fine. Also, format the card in the camera, not your PC.

Not sure if this will help you, but here goes.

I had a similar problem with my panasonic camera and a 1Gb sanDisk card.

Eventually rang panasonic who told me the camera could only cope with 512Mb cards. Swapped to a 512Mb card and not had any problems.

Hope that helps.
