Hello,

I have the TF5800 PVR,just loaded the latest firmware software 5.14.08

I now can not set programmes to record via EPG?

I tried to select a programme channel via EPG, pressed ok on remote to highlight it for recording. I waited for the programme to start when due and timmer did not come on?

Any tips please, or a step by step proceedure of how it should now be dome?

Regards

The latest firmware is not 5.14.08; it's 5.14.09+. The .08 version is not recommended.

And in any event, pressing OK in the EPG has never been the way to select a recording via the EPG - first press sets a 'pre-select' or watch timer. Press again to record (and then you'll be asked if you want to record the series, if a link is available, in new firmwares).

Or just press Record.

Other than the option to record a series, ALL firmware versions have worked like this - were you using a TAP beforehand?

Hi,

There are no taps installed.

I did press the ok button twice, and a red 'R' mark appeared on the menu channel programe guide as normal.

But still the programe did not record?

Funny thing is, that my toppy used to go on standy by when pressing the remote red power button after setting the timer, now it turns complety off(not stand by mode with red LED light ). It just shows the time when powered off with no stand by light, not shure if that has somthing to do with the problem?

I tried another method of setting the timer...I had to press the ok button twice as normal to set the channel rec mode, then had to press the record icon on remote to bring up options for one off recording....thats the only way it worked.

Please advise

Also I cant find 5.14.09+

5.14.09+ is available via www.topfield.co.uk and from www.toppy.org.uk/news

Freeview+ firmwares have a different standby mode.

Just noticed that there is a nitfix non FP firmware for 5800 owners who use My Stuff etc.

In other news I saw that Dixons had the 5800 for about £160 for sale, which is a bargain in most peoples book.
