Hi Guys,

So BB4 was a big bore, is there anyone out there who is going to apply for BB5 to try and spice it up a bit?

Although 10,000 people applied for BB4, I think a lot of people were put off from applying because of the insane media interest in the BB3 contestants, but since this years lot seem to have (thankfully) faded into oblivion, is anyone wanting to have a go?

I applied last year, and obviously failed, so I won't be applying again because I couldn't face the rejection! But, I am looking forward to hearing about other peoples application process when the time comes.

So, anyone???

I'd have a go, if I knew they were adopting the BBUSA format.

Oh god no way! after reading some of the poison on these boards and others there is nothing on this earth that would make me want to apply.

Good luck to anyone who does though.

Im going to apply because I know I wont get a chance in hell in it Also want to see the before scenes of Big Brother, I like to be a part of things

Hope they adopt SOME of the BBUSA format. This being:
HoH nominated two... and the PUBLIC votes out between the two.

Hope they also do competitions like food, veto and luxury. BBUSA has the right format, but not so good when the HMs vote out

I you want to do it and have the time then do it.
I think after this year anyone remotely lively will be a star.
Just hope the format is right to keep you in.
Remember your family -can they take it?(All your friends will tell you to do it)
Can't wait until next May!

I definitely think lessons will be learned after this years BB and I reckon that next year's will be full of larger than life, love 'em or loathe 'em type characters.

Can you imagine if this year's BB had been full of interesting/irritating (delete as applicable!) characters like Lisa and Jon? As much as you might have hated them, it would have made compulsive viewing and been heaps better than watching the okay, but very forgettable Gos, Tania, Justine, Scott, Sissy and Steph.

Oh I agree with you there Scaredy cat!

Yes, please, BB5, more nutters! Less convivials!

They scored well with BB1 and 2 and to some extent were pushing it with BB3 (Jade, Adele and worse, Tim) but BB4 - crap in spades!

Come on Endemol. You know what we really like!
Oh, and dont worry about £££ - when we like something we buy it big time - what we wont buy is a big time swindle (BB4)

One thing we have not thought about is that after BB3 they may have been threatened by the Watchdogs over the excesses on the TV and fuelling the press.
I also remember a quote from BB saying they thought with BB3 they were putting in a group of nice people who would all get on.
(Well done Alex and Sandy)
Perhaps they succeeded with BB4.
(Jade Adele and Tim were all part of the interesting mix and deserve our respect for their contribution)
Jade-could have gone after one week!
Adele-the inspiration for the van
Tim-I thought he was going to win it after two weeks -then something happenned(or didn't-they put something in his food when he was on the rich side on his own)

No way would I apply. I wouldn't last a week in there because I simply wouldn't sit back and take some of the crap I've seen housemates dish out - it'd be world war 3

Here's an interesting report from the papers yesterday...

"More than half of 'ordinary' members of the public appearing in docusoaps and reality shows such as Big Brother or Survivor have already appeared on TV, according to researchers.
Hundreds of people took part in the study, including programme makers, on condition they remain anonymous.

Richard Kilborn, senior lecturer in film and media at the Stirling Media Research Institute, said
"We were astonished to discover that 53.5% of all people appearing on docusoaps or gameshows had already appeared on another type of programme.
We found that the rise of soapumentaries, docusoaps, reality game-docs, had spawned a whole new class of semi-professional performers. Some had been on TV so often they ought to have been given Equity cards. "

haha...but seriously though....

Jonny and Alison are the prime examples of Equity card-carrying "semiprofessional performers", as they're only too keen to boast on their extensive CVs.....

PS. how interesting that Alison previously starred as "Katie" in "YES"

And PJ and Tim both previously appeared on Sky's "The Villa"

I'm sure I read that Jade was in an episode of The Bill or Casualty when she was younger

They seemed to have clamped down on this for BB4 as I don't recall seeing any stories about the HMs previous form

I know we're both being funny/sarcastic in what we're posting, but I've suddenly got paranoid someone might think I'm being serious.

Evening all

Jade was in a crowd scene in the first ever episode of London's Burning and she was 5. - it was her (then) 'claim to fame'.

I love it whan BB contestants do guest spots on TV/panto/fitness video/charity events/quiz shows...that's great. They're instantly famous - let them (and us) have their fifteen minutes.

BB2's Brian Dowling was lucky - he's just about thrown off the BB tag and had success as a live presenter - he's still working in TV now. But personally, I hope Big Brother never, ever produces another TV "personality" or we'll be stuck with the likes of Alison, Jonny and Kate cluttering up our screens.

A FM (sorry - don't know which one!) recently described Big Brother as "TV Presenter Academy" and that's the hellish road the show is going down - and there's not a lot we can do to stop it. We should thanks the gods of Big Brother 4 that none of them turned up presenting MTV as rumoured.

I agree with the 'reality TV links to fame' theme.

To prove/disprove this theory - I challenge people on this forum to make a list of direct fame connections for ALL Big Brother contestants PROIR to them being on Big Brother.

I'll go first:

Nick Bateman: Was on This Morning, talking about the yuppie lifestyle and modelling suits.
