ESPN2 took Phil Jones's interview of Sabine Isicki (although it did not name PJ). ESPN2 has got a large team at Wimbledon so it doesn't need to use the BBC's commentators. The only real time I shall have during the day to watch Wimbledon on US tv is Saturday when ESPN2 cover for six hours from midday (although I shall be out on Saturday late afternoon and evening.

Mullins and Davenport have been paired together quite a few times now this week. It's quite unusual at Wimbledon to get two people commentating together this often, especially during the first week.

they do work well together, at the start of the match Nick said to her here we go again. and she made a joke out of how much they have been paired together this week..

Lol, they have been good to listen to. I've been especially impressed by Davenport who's been a really good analyst.

I think it's Liz Smylie with Barry Davies and I'm not fully sure but it sounds like Alison Mitchell on Court 18 with Louise Pleming

Interesting that Andrew Castle ( BBCs probable number 1 ) hasn't had a Murray game yet. It has been Petchy, Cotter and Reed as lead man. I am sure that will change if AM gets through this round

Looks like it will be Andrew Cotter and Lindsay Davenport for the women's final.

Thanks for that link, interesting stuff.

Its a real shame there's no Peter Fleming this year, he's an excellent commentator. Wonder if his continual slipping down the pecking order in recent years is a factor as well. I can remember the BBC being quite excited about him joining in the late 90's and then along have come McEnroe, Becker, Connors, Lloyd, Henman & Rusedski ahead of him.

On the subject of the womens final I'd agree that Davenport, more recent and a former champion, is perhaps a better choice.

Not sure Cotter though, excellent as he is, should be doing the final ahead of the tennis specialists such as Petchey, Mercer & Reed. I know it won't happen but the two older guys, Mercer & Reed, should get the singles finals, by far the two best lead commentators this tournament.

Today

Wozniacki v Gajdsova Barry Davies & Lindsay Davenport
Nadal v Muller David Mercer & John Lloyd
Sharapova v Zakopalov Matt Chilton & Virgina Wade
Georges v Cibulkova Andrew Cotter & Sam Smith
Bartoli v Pennetta Jason Goodall & Jo Durie

That as the case may be, they are not "BBC Men" like Cotter and Castle.

To be honest Castle has not been a BBC man when he has covered previous finals. He has being at GMTV and ITV. Plus Mark Petchy did the last two ladies finals and he is a Sky man.
