Yes it is. I normally like Nick Lester, he's done Sky commentaries for quite some time now. But he was terrible on that final. He's also on Twitter for those that care.

For some unknown reason Mark Petchy who had been in the studio earlier in the week was out in Ohio reporting. Annabel Croft had been courtside earlier in the tournament (and last week in Canada). Neither offered much in this role and I would have preferred the commentary teams to have been on-site.

Don't know if anyone has heard it yet this is a short version of the World in Union song for 2011 sung by Hayley Westenra. ITV are using this throughout the tournament

Anyone got the full details of ITV4's coverage of La Vuelta a Espana?

I caught a bit of their coverage today, Ned Boulting was presenting alongside Matt Rendell from a colourful studio (presumably in London), while their commentary sounds like it is coming from an Australian world feed team. Could anyone clarify (Ariusuk perhaps)?

Brian Kenny is leaving ESPN and obviously will no longer be hosting Friday Night Fights. Sad news but he is moving to MLB Network for baseball coverage.

No word on a replacement.

SBS is only televising stages 8, 9, 13, 14, 15, 18, 20 and 21 live, They have a nightly 30 minute highlight show which is done by Matthew Keenan

Bit of a shame, always thought he was good on that. I'd imagine Coach has to be favourite for his replacement? He did quite a few FNF's this season and seemed a solid fit.

Yeah, Keenan is the bloke The Diff was on about. Sounds like he does the commentary on the stage live on his own, and then re-does a voiceover for the highlights programme. I caught ITV's highlights on Saturday and we have that 30 minute programme, with a few links and analysis from the studio team pasted at either end.

I'm not 100%, but I think he is the commentator that ITV used to use when they showed le Tour live on the red button before Versus came on air with Liggett and Sherwen.

Presumably that pair are doing the US Cycling Challenge this week.

Keenan was commentating on the Tour de france this year on SBS before they crossed over to Ligget and Sherwen and your correct those pair are also doing the US Cycling Challenge, it was originally scheduled to air on Eurosport here but I guess with the success of Cadel Evans Fox Sports got exclusive rights forcing Eurosport Australia to break away from the Asian feed

Todd Grisham has followed in Jonathan Coachman's footsteps by moving from WWE to ESPN.
The Difference
25-08-2011
The timing of this move suggests that Todd could be in line to replace Brian Kenny as the host of Friday Night Fights, although like Chris Finch I suspect Jonathan Coachman is probably his most likely successor. (Thanks for the Vuelta a Espana feed info Chris).

I wonder if Todd Grisham will be involved in ESPN's MLS coverage? It doesn't surprise me that he's decided to move on as he'd been dropped from the Fox Soccer Channel's coverage of the league this season after being their main anchorman over the past few years, on top of that he was demoted from his position as the lead commentator of WWE Friday Night Smackdown around the same time.

SSReporters, do you know what Brian Kenny's role on the MLB Network will be? I've don't believe he has a background in covering baseball so while he's a good host it does seem an odd move on their part.

Grisham is joining ESPN because FOX Soccer have lost the MLS rights effective 2012.

Re Grisham - ESPN seems to have Max Bretos (another FSC transplant) as their MLS mainstay so it may not be that. Don't know what Grisham's role would be beyond hosting SportsCenter or maybe he would be a secondary host for the soccer matches. After all they did pick up Euro 2012 rights.

Re Brian Kenny - He does have a fairly deep baseball background, in fact he was an occasional commentator for MLB Wednesday Night games in the early 2000s and I think he was one of the hosts (or commentators?) for the World Baseball Classic.

Definitely going to miss BK as I've known him as a part of Friday Night Fights for the decade plus that I've watched boxing.

He's not been working on their MLS coverage full stop this year as far as I've seen, so I wouldn't be surprised if he was looking for a move before they lost the rights. I've always liked Todd's work so I hope he gets the chance to play a part in ESPN's soccer coverage, he's a proper football fan and one of the better North Americans I've seen covering the sport.

Thanks for the Brian Kenny info, I didn't know he had covered the World Baseball Classic for ESPN. I must have missed his work on their coverage of the 2009 tournament. Hope he does well there as I've enjoyed what I saw of him on Friday Night Fights back when Channel 5 carried it as part of their overnight sports strand.

Be interesting to see who Sky have doing the cricket today - weather permitting. I wonder if they will use "the big guns" for a game against Ireland

I cannot warm to Tom Moody at all. Find him a bit arrogant and abrupt. Tony Greig on the other hand is a joy as always.

Did Floyd commentate on this game?

I didn't watch the game, but I doubt it. He only presents and hasn't commentated on a match yet.

Yeah I know but with the lack of other commentators listed by Shelsey for that game I wasn't sure. I only saw a few overs at the beginning and some post game stuff with the presentation. Was odd to see Colney in the studio, Doesn't happen often.
