I should probably put a disclaimer at this point and add that I at the moment only have access to the main channel and the sky sport xtra online channel and thus don't have access to all the televised courts.

Sky Sports 2 have also now gone to this match upon the premature conclusion to the Laura Robson match. Barry Cowan and Leif Shiras remain on commentary.

I've decided to move to the alternative red button commentary for this as it annoys me when commentators move from one match to another as in the instance, as they can have no idea what has gone on in the first set and a half. (Apart from looking at the score)”

Al Trautwig and Mark Knowles were commentating on that game, I don't know if that is a specific world feed commentary or whether they are working for a particular network which is syndicating the feed.

There is also a commentary feed on Louis Armstrong for the Kvitova/Dulgheru match, Virgina Wade is involved.

Fantastic cheers for that. Hopefully commentary will be on all matches then.

Falla v Troicki Barry Cowan and Peter Fleming.

Upon the conclusion of this match both commentators moved over to Monfils v Dimitrov

Fortunately they joined the match at 1-1 in the first set so this wasn’t that much of an annoying move. Although it does make the coverage seem a bit cheaper. This and the sometimes lack of commentators on the matches behind the red button are small blemishes on what is fantastic coverage again on this slam by Sky Sports.

Furthermore, the start of the night session on Arthur Ashe saw Barry Cowan and Peter Fleming then start commentating on Venus Williams v Dolonts Although they have swapped roles with Cowan becoming the lead commentator and Fleming more of the analyst. Roles i think they both suit better.

I didn’t see much of the match earlier but i’d assume Sharapova v Watson was Skys second exclusive pick of the day, or does anyone know if Eurosport showed this as well?

I don't believe they did show it, I think they were showing the Kvitova match followed by the Zvonereva match

Don`t think it has been mentioned that Barry Davies & Sean Curley were commentating on the Euro Hockey last weekend(but not the games earlier in the week) on BBC Red Button

Not been watching - have they ditched the Fanscene format with a representative from each team's support?

Dont get me or my OH started on Nick Knight. Cant stand the bloke, cant understand how he ever got the job. I cannot abide pundits who criticise others for not doing something, when they havent done it themselves. All the others on the cricket team reached the very top of the game, either as a team captain, coach, or outstanding player. Knight is none of these, just an also ran with a constant dose of verbal diarrhea.

I don't think he is that bad although I also wouldn't say he is my favourite. I guess he was quite lucky in a way that he retired in 2006 - a little before more likely candidates for a full time role on the Sky team such as Mark Butcher and Michael Vaughan did.

The texting in of terrible jokes, or whether someone should have an Indian or a Chinese meal still happens, but the fans of the respective teams has given way to a different ex-player each week.

He did thank in name each of the fans who came in to the ground or studio during the years they have been doing it.

What examples are you thinking of? As a man who played 100 ODIs, numerous Test matches and captained Warwickshire to a County Championship he clearly has the same level of qualifications to say so as someone like Ian Ward

Thanks Ian. It's a bit of a shame that the red button format has been altered as I enjoyed it as it was, but I'm glad Rick's sticking around and it's pretty cool of him to give a nod to each of the former contributors during tonight's commentary.

You beat me to it Alex. I was wondering if there were two Nick Knights. His ODI average was a superb 40.41 which is not only higher than his Sky Sports colleagues but also higher than Kevin Pietersen, Ian Bell and Andrew Strauss

Exactly, Nick Knight is a prime example of someone who takes a lot of stick from people who forget his contribution over the years.

On another note it's been good to hear Tony Green on ESPN this weekend, I don't know if you know anymore info Darren, but I assume this is postitive with regards to the poor health he was battling earlier in the year?

There were 'two' Nick Knights - the superb one day player who played 100 ODIs and the test player who wasn't much cop.

There was an All Blacks meet and greet the other day (well, Thursday) in Auckland, and one of the photographs I've seen was of an interviewer with a Sky Sports UK microphone.

Anyone know who he is?
