The main commentator of the Murray matches on the Beeb have been on a cycle. It has been Petchey, Mercer, Castle and tonight, Bailey. Will the legendary Barry Davies get the next round? I hope so, it would be great to hear Barry call the Ferrero quarter-final.

As for a potential semi-final and final, I guess it would be 50/50 between Petchey and Castle judging that on Petchey's more prominent role and Castle's been the number one for the last few years.

Petchey would get my vote to call the final as he was superb at the French and at Queens, and has been in good form at Wimbledon but more importantly has a very good on-air banter with Lloyd who most probably would be in one of the two colour commentator chairs for the final.

On a final note, I miss Jimmy Connor's on commentary, I rated him on a par with McEnroe.

Haven't spotted many details of Sky Sports' coverage of the British & Irish Lions tour on this thread, so will post this for completeness.

Sky Sports used a uniform team for all games in the series, including the Tests, which were as follows:

British & Irish Lions tour on Sky Sports

Commentators: Miles Harrison & Stuart Barnes

Pitchside reporter adding "Special Comments" during commentaries: Dewi Morris

Other pitchside reporters/interviewers: Graham Simmons & Melissa Platt

Charles Colville and Bob Willis are at Cardiff for tonight's look back at the 2005 Ashes. Looks like they will be broadcasting the highlights show from the ground throughout the series, instead of from the studio, as Nasser Hussain will be with them tomorrow.

Very nice as Gower called her Lucy from Sky News. Guess he couldn't get his tonuge round her last name.

Tim Hutchings on Eurosport yesterday gave reference to him being at the IAAF Super Grand Prix in Athens due to him flying from 'London' to Athens via 'that Orange company'.

There was some wild camera switches between the long jump, shot put and high jump during the start of the programme, like it would be half way through a repeat of a high jumper and switching to a camera shot of the 110m Mens' Hurdlers warming up.

First Ashes Test highlights, Five.

Commentary team: Mark Nicholas (also presenter), Geoffrey Boycott, Simon Hughes and Ian Chappell, plus Richie Benaud on Saturday summarising the day's play.

Wonder if the team for the Second Test will be the same, or if Matthew Hayden will replace Chappell in the commentary box.

Chappell said today on Test Match Special that he was going back to Australia at the end of this test. Matthew Hayden looks like he'll be taking over on both TMS and Five's highlights.

Could someone tell David Harmon to tone it down a bit. His comentary gets more and more over the top everytime one of the favourites goes on the attack and is seriously starting to detract from my enjoyment of the tour.

Just finished watching the coverage I had to record earlier and he was uber excited today and even put me off the coverage slightly. I understand he was excited about Bradley Wiggins, but he had no grasp of the situation at all and seems to have been completely swept away by the press frenzy over the non-existent Contador/Armstrong rivalry for the yellow jersey. Yes they maybe a slight ego clash, but in reality Contador was always the one who would be Astana's leading rider.

I'll try and put it down to a one off and hope he is back on better form on Tuesday.

Adding names for their Open coverage Gary Lineker presented and their was additional commentary from Sam Torrance and Mark James.

In addition there was a special segment on commentary today from CBS' Jim Nantz who was over on holiday for the week.

It's just a shame no-one told Lance Armstrong

Harmon did sound a bit hyper today, I agree. Maybe it was because the Eurosport coverage was so truncated and he had to get into it straight from the gun. Usually he has a couple of hours to find his rhythm.

I thought Sean Kelly's voice sounded a bit different in the first few minutes aswell so maybe their first taste of altitude for a few days sent them a bit crazy.

On the Armstrong point it's interesting that I came across this article this morning

A bit of shrewd well calculated rivalry never hurt anyone!

Le Tour de France, ITV4.

Presenter: Gary Imlach.

Pundits: Bob Roll for most live stages. Has Chris Boardman been involved in the ITV coverage yet?

Commentators: Phil Liggett & Paul Sherwen.

Reporters: Ned Boulting & Matt Rendell.

ITV's coverage of Le Tour has been great as always, may I be the millionth person to say that the brilliant Gary Imlach merits far more sports broadcasting gigs than the few he currently gets.

Also, props go to the ITV Sport webteam for putting a "tracklist" page on their website detailing all the music used on the highlights programme. Good work guys.
