Good question!

There were also some quite long tunnels on the Olympic road race route where the live motorcycle pictures continued. Perhaps the Chinese had installed some receivers in the tunnels?

Of course, the Chinese had years to prep the route. Can't do that in many other races where the route changes every day and the roads have to be opened to traffic soon after the race goes through.

Someone e-mailed Eurosport during the Olympics with the same question.

David Harmon said it was something to do with the fact that on a shorter criterium loop they can put the same number of recievers that they would use on a race like the Tour closer together. That then provides a stronger signal which allows them to get pictures from inside a tunnel.

I know what you mean, but on the Tour de France they use helicopters and planes - difficult inside a tunnel

Looks like Stuart will be back this weekend covering the World Athletics Final from Stuttgart for the BBC while Steve Cram is in Beijing.

Yes. I heard him on the online stream when I was browsing the BBC site during the week.

He's had a busy time of it recently: from the Olympics to the Tour of Britain to the World Championships with hardly any break.

It was Connor Morris and John Kelly on Setanta's Magners League duty for Munster (in their newly refurbished Limerick home) against Glasgow Warriors.

I saw a bit of the Super League Grand Final on Sky Sports 1 earlier, and by god did the Graphics team go into CGI overdrive!

Ian, they always do for the SL Grand Final. They had their biggest team of the season on board and to be fair they were excellent. As they always are.

Will Chignell and Dick Best for Bristol's European Challenge Cup RU match at Montpellier on Sky Sports 2.

DB has just nearly avoided saying the misheard Colemanball of a player 'opening his legs and showing his class' phrase.

Mark Robson and Stuart Barnes on Heineken Cup RU duty for Sky Sports 2. Alex Payne hosting from a different studio set-up to the one Setanta used last week (it's more central).

Don't get your expectations up too high with regards to the first one.

Apparently, it's Legard and Brundle on commentary duty, analysis from the two Eddies, Irvine and Jordan... with Jake Humphrey presenting - we shall see....

Who's doing the Klitschko fight on Setanta tonight?

I've been suprised by the lack of Harrison and Barnes during the first weekend. Not sure if they've been paired together all weekend as Harrison commentated with Will Greenwood yesterday.
