so 2 quarters for Waddell and Gwynne, 1 for Pyke, Pearson, Lanning and Harrington and nothing for Rod Studd
Now then, Nigel Pearson is back with just 2 semis and a final to go. So. I wonder if he will do a semi tomorrow and Stuart Pyke will go to 5 Live Sports Extra to do the Rugby League.”
Darren, many thanks for posting the Sky Sports commentary details for all four of yesterday's Quarter Finals. Appreciate you posting them mate.
Good to hear that Nigel Pearson is back amongst the team, although I feel sorry for Rod Studd that he didn't get to do a Quarter Final (which IMO he deserved due to his sterling work during the week).
As much as I enjoy Nige's commentaries I don't see the point in bringing him in to do one match, especially as they didn't use him tonight and almost certainly won't use him for the final.

It's not so much what I class as a better game, more what Sky Sports clearly do.
Obviously, Phil Taylor is darts biggest draw, and for that reason Sky Sports marquee commentator Sid Waddell (or Twadell as you called him

) gets just about every Taylor game.
So Taylor v Lewis, as the last match of the evening session, would have been deemed the "best game" by Sky Sports.
From then, the Van Barneveld's match v Terry Jenkins and Wade's match v Baxter would have probably been considered as equally attractive given the respective status of Barney and Wade (with Wade's game perhaps being a slightly bigger draw given it was in the evening session and involving a hometown player).
As much as I like both players, the King-Van Der Voort quarter-final was probably the "least attractive" of the four, which is probably why it was given to Nigel Pearson who hadn't been there all week.
