British Eurosport had a lot more studio pundits this year than they have done in previous years.

James Richardson did all of the presenting, and the voiceover of the highlights packages, but here's a list of the studio guests that I remember:

Stephen Roche (there every day except for one stage).
Brian Smith (for the first few days only)
Tony Gibb
Malcolm Elliot
Magnus Backstedt
Emma Pooley (for one day)
David Duffield (for one day)

Third Ashes Test highlights, Five.

Commentary team: Mark Nicholas (also presenter), Geoffrey Boycott, Simon Hughes and Matthew Hayden.

Richie Benaud was due to give us his summary of the day's play on Saturday, but as play was completely rained out the highlights show was replaced by a two minute update given by Mark Nicholas at 7.15pm before a replacement programme.

Has anybody any idea if Bruce Critchley will be doing the USPGA for sky sports next week.

I am surprised he is not over for the WGC, leaving Howard Clark to walk the fariways with a selected group

I would have thought probably the guys they have out there this week- sometimes Peter Oosterhuis joins them for majors as well.

Rugby League - semi finals this weekend

Sat - Wigan V Warrington

Hosted by Clare Balding with Justin Morgan and Robbie Paul
Commentators - Dave Woods and Jonathan Edwards
Reporter - Tanya Arnold

Sun - St Helens V Huddersfield

Hosted by Clare Balding with Brian Noble and Robbie Paul
Commentators - Ray French and Jonthan Edwards
Reporter - Damien Johnson

I have to say it wasn't a great performance today by Ray French and Jonthan Davies. They kept talking all over each other. Even my other half, who wasn't really watching, commented that they sounded like parrotts.

Brian Carney is in the studio for the second match not robbie paul. Unless Robbie Paul is hanging around on the touchline like he sometimes does.

Apologies. You are correct Andy. It was Brian Carney. Robbie Paul was also doing some touchline reports and pre match stuff.

Terrible, terible commentary- abysmal. Loads of errors in the game compounded by hundreds of commentary errors. Imagine Motson and Lawrenson at their worst with a factual rule error or wrong stat (even the the time and score were regularly wrong) and multiply by ten- makes me sound like QPR Keith!

I think Peter Oosterhuis will be spending most of his time working for TNT/CBS next week, it's a shame as he is always good value.

It will be a tough one for Sky as they'll be on air for longer with it being the final major, it's already been noticable this week how they've slightly struggled with three commentators instead of four .

I wonder if they'll bring the likes of Rob Lee and Richard Boxall over, it's always suprised me that they've not used them on US tournaments before.

Just enjoying this golfing masterclass from Tiger but it's not quite the same without Bruce.
He gets very few plaudits does Critchley but to me he is the glue and the respected voice that holds the Sky commentary together.
Ewan Murray is OK but Critchley is the main man and the UK's most authoratative golf commentator IMO.

edit: The great man just drops a shot

Ewen Murray and Bruce Critchley are tremendous. Find the Sky Sports golf coverage to be the best by a distance.

Is the USPGA definitely on CBS next week? Shame as they could've tried for one of Peter Oosterhuis or Nick Faldo.

Yes, TNT provide coverage on the Thursday and Friday along with early round coverage on the weekend, CBS are the host broadcaster for the main body of the weekend's coverage.

On the Sky front they are still streets ahead of the BBC. However I don't think Ewen Murray is as good as he used to be. Bruce Critchley is still as authorative as ever and I think is underplayed as a broadcaster, especially for the 20+ years of service he's given.

Thanks for the confirmation.

Disagree about Ewen Murray - still doing a tremendous job in my view.

The World Athletics Champs starts on BBC this weekend. But now they have dispensed with Stuart Storey, who will they use ?

Cram, Foster, Dickinson and Edwards obviously but they are still a man down.
