Any idea who did/will be doing Blues V Edinburgh then?

I told a workmate earlier that I believed Edinburgh would sneak it.

I don't think Rugby (union) has had a break for about 20 months has it (ie - Lions Tour - Tri Nations, etc) !!

Setanta just used the BBC Wales commentators.

Maybe it's just me but I find Nick Knight to be the most irritating of cricket commentators.
He has no light and shade to his voice, emphasises the wrong words in sentences to make his points and sounds like the most humourless of indviduals who takes it all so terribly seriously.

I wish he'd stick to the county matches because I don't watch those

I actually don't mind him, but he does come across as someone who's trying very hard to sound like he's making a most insightful point, when he's actually doing something like describing what's happening on a replay we can all see.

Winmau World Masters, BBC TV/BBCi

Rob Walker presenting from The Spa, Bridlington with Bobby George

Commentators: Tony Green and David Croft

Crofty was also doing the interviews.

I don't *think* they've called upon anyone else, but then I didn't watch any of Saturday's coverage.

In addition, it appears former The Championship reporter Tom Skippings has found a new weekend job as he was doing the voiceovers on edits of the weekend's two other games, Sale v Leicester and Leeds v Newcastle.

Craig Doyle and Martin Bayfield were presenting Guinness Premiership Rugby from Twickenham, the site of Saturday's double header.

Scrum V, BBC Two Wales

Commentators on the highlights edits of the weekend's Magners League games involving the Welsh regions (which, like those for Football League and SPL games, are available on the BBC Sport website) were as follows:

Cardiff Blues v Edinburgh - Gareth Charles and Jonathan Davies (as BBC TV live coverage)
Connacht v Ospreys - Nick Webb (voiceover report)
Scarlets v Leinster - Nick Webb
Newport Gwent Dragons v Ulster - Gareth Charles and Stuart Davies (as BBC TV live coverage)

Barry Millns also has been commentating. I have no idea who has been commentating on the red button matches.

Not much use for tonight since the game has finished, but for Eurobasket the BBC have the veritable Olympic pairing of Ronald McIntosh and John Amaechi. Good performance from them bearing in mind it was almost certainly from a broom cupboard in London.

Except for Ronald McDonald getting all the British players mixed up.

Him in the NBA would be brilliant...

"And its another three for Kobe!!! No wait, it was Pau Gasol"

I liked the intro in Saturday, with Bobby welcoming Rob to the coverage. I thought Rob looked and even sounded very much like Ian Payne, actually.

...Except Rob possesses some charisma.

Personally, I can't see the resemblance between the quite staid Payne and the more bouncy Walker but each to their own, I suppose.

I agree with you that the intro was quite good, a nice way to introduce Rob to the darts public.

Overall, judging by Sunday's coverage, I think Rob made a good debut as the BBC's new darts host and I hope he's still in place as anchor at the Lakeside in January.

The intro and opening link was the only bit I saw of Saturday's coverage though; out of interest did Rob, Bobby, Tony Green or David Croft mention Ray and his departure at all?

I think he's alright as well, though he does seem to have had a meteoric rise at Sky in the last 18 months or so, in the same way that Ian Ward has.
