S4C had Gareth Roberts hosting the Newport Gwent Dragons V Ospreys game, with Derwyn Jones and Emyr Lewis in the studio. Huw Llewellyn Davis and Gwyn Jones commentating with Sara Elgan interviewing.

It's times like these I miss Setanta, as no doubt the Munster V Glasgow game would've been live to the whole UK.

Has Hughes ever presented before? I can't remember seeing him in this role before - not the best role for him. They'd be best having him in a more analytical role.

Also, he's doing pretty well going from BBC TMS to ITV IPL to Cricket on Five in three months, which I'm pleased about, because I like Hughes a lot.”

I think he presented county cricket and some World Cup games in the closing years of BBC cricket coverage but in general he is better suited to a pundits role - remember he is referred to as 'The Analyst' during his analysis segments from the OB truck which were seen on Channel 4 and now on Five.

As for working for different broadcasters, Mark Butcher can beat Simon Hughes having covered Australia v Pakistan, the Idea Cup tri-series and India v South Africa as a pundit on Sky Sports before working for both Test Match Special and Nimbus Sports (as a replacement for the ill David Lloyd) in the Bangladesh v England test matches and then appearing as an IPL pundit yesterday. I would imagine he is likely to be a fairly regular commentator on Sky's county cricket this year, having done a few games following his retirement at the end of last season.

Dominic Cork can argue he can even beat that having done an Australia v Pakistan test for Sky, Bangladesh v England for TMS and Nimbus and is now part of the IPL World Feed. Remember, he is also still playing for Hampshire...

To add to that, Cork was part of talkSPORT's commentary team at Finals Day of the Twenty20 Cup last summer and was a part of the station's coverage of The Ashes as well.

So that's Sky Sports, ITV4 via the IPL World Feed, BBC Radio's Test Match Special (and I suspect he's worked on Five Live's cricket coverage in some capacity too) and talkSPORT. All he needs now is to be involved with Cricket on Five to complete the set!

Interesting "stuff" about the viewing figures for the IPL on the IPL Rights thread

Lol, what was today's 'You could save energy by not playing most matches under floodlights!'

While most of the cricket is excellent it's things like that which really let the host coverage down for me.

"This telecast is going out to 126 countries (or something like that), so if you're watching with your family, watch using only one television set."

The host coverage is rather poor. They missed the bowler delivering a wicket-taking ball earlier, because there was a full screen graphic up.

Does anyone know who covered the race for Eurosport. All I saw was a couple of pre-race segments by Andrew Cotter and Eddie Butler which I presume were also on the BBC's coverage.

Tim Caple and Peter Hackworth, they also had the bit from BBCs Coverage of Matthew Pinsent about some of the Markers of the course, like Fulham's ground and the Bandstand.

I only recorded it to see if I would see a train go across one of the bridges when the boats went past
