Russel Arnold has joined the Sky Sports team for the 2nd Test.
The rest of the team is the same as the 1st Test. I haven't seen Ian Ward, that doesn't mean he isn't there though as I only saw the evening session.

Ward was there today, in his reporter role once again

Are they all there ? I only saw bits and bobs yesterday and heard everybody except Michael Holding so wasn't sure if he was there

Any female umpires likely to arrive on the scene in the near future?

And Shane Warne will be joining for the 3rd test.

Holding was the 3rd Man today. And was there yesterday.

Must be the end for Nick Knight as per last summer. Was this given away during the broadcast or is there a link?

I have to say i was rather impressed with Arnold today, haven't heard much from him and he has received bad press on here previously but i like what i've heard so far.

It was reported by Charlie Sale today

What he doesn't make clear though is whether it's just for the next test (the first to be held at the Rose Bowl in Hampshire) or whether it's for longer

I'm gobsmacked! In the United States, NBC is currently showing Rugby Sevens. It's a college match between California and Penn State. The US collegiate system is obviously more international-sports-aware than I thought. Credit also to NBC.
It seems to be the USA 7's Collegiate Championshp from Philadelphia.

Todd Harris and Marty Snider are the Rugby 7s commentators.

It's only a very recent development I think. I can't remember the exact details, but it involves a deal that was setup where NBC (or part of the NBC Sports group) showed some form of coverage of the IRB Sevens tournament in the US too.

NFL's (and Football League Show's) Nick Halling commentating on boxing. He's certainly got a number of strings to his bow...

He's been doing boxing for many years. He was a regular on ITV2's Boxing First (11 years since that last aired!) and has narrated KOTV on Channel 4 for at least as long.

The weekend's boxing...

Friday Night Fights-Jhonson v Torres (ESPN)
Presenter: Jonathan Coachman
Commentators: Joe Tessitore and Teddy Atlas

Big Time Boxing (Sky Sports)
Presenter: Gary Newbon with Johnny Nelson, Barry McGuigan and Darren Barker

Rees v Murray
Commentators: Nick Halling and Glenn McCrory
Reporter: Ed Robinson

Kessler v Bouadla
Commentators: Adam Smith and Richie Woodhall

Froch v Johnson
Commentators: John Rawling and Jim Watt
Reporter (Showtime): Jim Gray

Yes, it was that Jonathan Coachman presenting Friday Night Fights, and that Gary Newbon presenting on Sky last night, with Dave Clark at the UK Open darts, and Adam Smith commentating 'in' Copenhagen. Newbon made a right hash of it from start to finish really. Admittedly he hasn't done boxing in a while, and the studio direction seemed a bit off at times last night, but it was like a rookie was presenting, not someone who's been doing the job for 40 years. Sky cut out of Gray's interview with Glen Johnson half way through in the live broadcast and Rawling interviewed Froch on the highlights programme this morning. McGuigan joined the studio line-up in time for the US portion of the show, having been managing Carl Frampton, who fought on the Rees v Murray undercard in Cardiff.

Of whom a Twitter Pic has been posted Here

Welsh Language commentary from the S4C crew of Huw Llewellyn Davies and Gwyn Jones. The Fanscene commentary was not available on Freeview, which meant quite a lot of viewers missed some brilliant 'Out of Retirement' Jokes.

Just a couple of tennis notes and thoughts,

I know not everyone is a fan of him, but for me Frew McMillan is excellent. His analysis is superb and was in almost another league to the commentary of John Lloyd on the BBC coverage. The fact that he is only on radio during Wimbledon is a great shame.

Also, I read that Chris Evert has decided to do some commentary work at Wimbledon for one of the American networks for the first time since 2003. I wonder if the BBC might try and use her again as they did previously.

Hampshire Royals v Somerset - Friends Life t20 South Group (Wednesday 1st June)

Presenter: Charles Colvile (also commentating)
Commentators: Nasser Hussain, David Lloyd and Nick Knight

Durham Dynamos v Warwickshire Bears - Friends Life t20 North Group (Thursday 2nd June)

Presenter: Paul Allott (also commentating)
Commentators: Mark Butcher, Dominic Cork and Steve Harmison

Sri Lanka v England - 2nd Test (Friday 3rd June - Tuesday 7th June)

Presenter: David Gower (also commentating)
Commentators: Michael Atherton, Nasser Hussain, Sir Ian Botham, David Lloyd, Nick Knight, Russel Arnold and Michael Holding

Highlights were presented by Charles Colvile on Days 1, 3 and 4. He was joined by Bob Willis on each of the days he presented, Alec Stewart on Day 1 and Mark Butcher on Days 3 and 4. On Days 2 and 5 the highlights were introduced by David Gower with no analysis.

I assume that a lack of available HD studios is the reason for not having Charles, Bob and co. on air every day. I don't really agree with this - as a non-HD viewer I would rather have highlights and analysis in SD than highlights always in HD but sometimes with analysis and sometimes without. What do those who do watch in HD think of this?

West Indies v India - Twenty20 International (Saturday 4th June)

Presenter: Paul Allott

I assume the pundit was Jimmy Adams. As this match was on the red button I couldn't record it and I couldn't watch live as I was playing club cricket.

Commentary from TWI/Sky Sports team of Ian Bishop, Tony Cozier, Jeff Dujon and Fazeer Mohammed

West Indies v India - 1st ODI (Monday 6th June)

Presenter: Paul Allott
Pundit: Jimmy Adams

Commentary from TWI/Sky Sports team of Ian Bishop, Tony Cozier, Jeff Dujon, Fazeer Mohammed and Sunil Gavaskar

Was day 2 the day over the weekend where they only had a one hour highlights programme?

I don't think this match was televised live. I switched on the red button at 7.00pm (which is when I thought it started), and it wasn't available. I then looked at sky text and the match was half done, so I presume it was only shown in highlights form later that night.

I think the start time was switched to 3pm so that Indian viewers could see the match in prime-time and shown on the red button under the England match. However, unless it was promoted during the test match coverage this was very poorly advertised so I don't see how anyone was expected to watch it...
