hello am new to the forums and whilst having a browse around the site i wondering if anyone could help with my tv problem
i have a samsung LE32M51B S tv and it wont switch on .
i turned the tv of last night and went to switch on this morning and nothing.
usually when you switch it on it makes a little melody tune then starts but there is no melody and screen is totally blank.

i have unplugged for a couple of hours and retried but nothing . the only thing you can hear when you press the power button is a little click what you normally hear befor the melody but thats as far as it gets. the tv has been running perfectly no glitches no screen problems. just cant understand why its suddenly not starting up.

i dont know anything about the workings of lcd tvs but the click is like that of an car indicator and am wondering if there is some type of relay that may kick in something lik the starter of a flourecant tube that may of gone .

anyone able to shed some light what the problem may be .
thanks in advance

We don't do Samsung, but it sounds like the inverter (which drives the tubes) might not be working - often the LED on the front will flash in an error code.

Hardly much help, TV's are built using PCB's (Printed Circuit Boards), depending on the set it may have more than one (and almost certainly will) - it's also a VERY expensive way to repair TV's - replacing boards.

That's an LED

If it's flashing three times that's an error code, but I've no way of finding out what it means - the service manual will tell you.

Three flashing light's mean "Im a Samsung which is more than a year old, thus I have packed in" Sorry I just came from my father inlaw's, 40" of colour banding splender, so bad it look's like somebody is using a set of electric hedge trimmers next to a 99p SCART cable feeding the T.V.!(Still his Samsung lasted a WHOLE 12 month's!)
