Panasonic TX-37LZD80, worth the extra cost?
I am thinking of changing my CRT TV to a flat panel 37'' LCD, the Panasonic TX-37LZD80 seems to get very good ratings, but seems to be much more expensive than other 37'' makes, is it worth the extra cash or is there another make that I should consider?

Panasonic are good, I would compare with Sony especially if they have any deals on.
Either brand should give you a really good PQ. |

General guideline
Plasma: Panasonic or Pioneer Panny is cheaper but still very good, pioneer is "simply the best" (thanks mrs turner) but mroe expensive LCD: Sony...simple as I've owned a Sony KDL40W4000 and Panasonic TH42PZ81, The sony was marginally better for gaming in some areas but overall the panny plasma I own now is superior in most areas, especially when viewing SD like freeview

Hi,
It does have very good reviews, however CNET says that "What we think: A truly outstanding LCD TV, though one that looks expensive compared with Panasonic's own 37-inch plasmas" Here's thier review, in case you want to read what else they said. I'm not sure how much you're willing to spend, but ElectroSaver have it for £858 Let me know if this helps!

Got a nice new Panasonic TX-37LXD85 which am thrilled with. Picture quality is great but the sound through sky isnt as crystal clear as the analogue sound or the freeview ?? Cant be the telly cos the sound wouldnt be ok on the others, and it's a brand new sky + box which worked perfectly well on previous and other telly it links with. It's just on the new panasonic.
Is this a common fault with it coming through sky boxes ? Are they trying to make us have HD boxes ?? |
