Nokia Announce New N Series Handsets
We all know about the long awaited N96 but Nokia have announced 2 other handsets which are due in october.
The N79 & N85 http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2008/08/26/nokia_n79_n85/ These look quite nice & are bound to be cheaper than the N96 because of the less storage & no useless TV tuner. |

N85 is much nicer out of the two. I really like the shape and design of it. Might have to pick up one of those

Same here, the only thing that is stopping me from getting a Nokia in my upgrade is the quality of video record. I am not sure if there is much difference between mp4 capture & divx capture.

I wish they'd sort their keypads out. The last Nokia to have a decent keypad was the 1100

details here
http://www.nokia.co.uk/A41199566 Im getting confused over these phones now. Ive got the original n95 and due an upgrade in October so was going to get the n96 but now i see this n85. Im also struggling to see any real, big differences in either of them. The things i use most is the 5mp cam, HSDPA internet browsing and satnav. I cant see either of the new ones doing it differently. Might just stay with what ive got and get cheaper line rental instead. |

Certainly seems better than the N96, surprised Nokia haven't moved to a 8MP camera.

it's a shame that peopl edon't realise that because if they did they ight make phones with better sensors rather than more MP. |

It's Time To Compare
As I was the bugger responsible for this thread, I thought that I should do a little bit more investigating as I have way too much time on my hands
Here Are The Results N85 VS N96 http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3...&idPhone1=2496 N96 VS I8510 http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3...&idPhone1=2253 N85 VS I8510 http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3...&idPhone1=2496 |

there's really no point, it's not about the mega pixels so long as you have 'enough' you don't need anymore.

I know this is a trivial thing in the scheme of things but can the Samsung icons and menu be made to look more the the Nokia? I like the colourful 3D look of the Nokia icons and the way it is set out. I've only seen pics of the Samsung but it looks all 2D and dull in comparison. I know it has nothing to do with the functionality...but I just like the way the Nokia meanu looks.
I use my phone mainly for pics I am taken with the Samsung...not just for the 8mp camera but for the face, smile and blink funtion...if it's any good. It's gonna be a tough choice! |
