Hello All,

We have had cats for a number of years; in all that time I have never seen any cat do the following.

Our cat has taken to sleeping in her cat litter tray.

This started yesterday.

She is also unusually vocal; she has stopped sleeping in her bed.

Has anyone got any ideas?

Kindest Regards
Kaylan

It's best to take her to the vets I think she's trying to tell you some thing, one of my elderly cats did this and it turned out her liver was not to good, and another one used to do it when she had cystitis.

To be honest this is not a good sign. My cat died last week , she kept sleeping in Odd places . Cats do this when the end is coming .

When mine had cystitis she would pee in her bed and strange places, but not sleep in them .

How old is the cat?

She is 9 years old.

RSPCA rescue cat so has allways been a little strange, but the last week she has been odd to say the least.

Only letting me comfort her, and sleeping in odd places, food seems Ok though, eating normally.

She is not normally a vocal cat, except on fridays which is tuna day.

But now I get it from when I come home untill I go out. Strange conversations. Make a lot of fuss as soon as I park outside of the house. My wife knows I am home, as soon as she starts.

Will not sleep in her bed at all.

Kaylan, definitely time to call the vet. As shardlake said, she's trying to tell you something's wrong.

Definately when cats become more vocal than usual it's a sure sign that something is bothering them and they're asking you to help them.

I'd definitely be tempted to change tuna day to a different day. Just to see what happens.

Sleeping in the litter tray is a bad sign I'm afraid. Take your cat to the vet asap.
