Surely not THE Frobisher?

Very much doubt it but it could be possible in theory I mean he is a shape shifter after all he could appear as anyone or anything.

If they did bring him back I would love to see the CGI version of the penguin.

There's a character called Rani in the new SJA as well. Probably just RTD's little joke.

Could be....but also as Rani is a common Asian girls name, it may just be a coincident

Yeah see your point but as a long term fan RTD knows that naming characters Rani or Frobisher is going to set some fans off.
It isn't like he isn't aware of the DW characters Rani or Frobisher is it.

More likely a non fan on the production team might of mentioned using the name Rani for a new series regular (Or Frobisher) and RTD who would have to ratify it would think that was a good laugh and thus allow it to go forward as a kind of in-joke.

I guess that may more likely to be the case....I guess the only reason I said that was because being Asian myself I didn't bat an eye lid at that name, despite knowing who the Rani is in the world of Doctor Who

Perhaps he'll come back not as a penguin but as a Sparrow (named Sally, of course)
