After the Split NIT update the other week my Daewoo SV900 VCR is now land fill and Daewoo ain't doing a thing about it, so its time to get a new recorder i've already got a sony RDR-HXD910, so i think i will pick sony again will not go with Daewoo ever again.
I've not kept up with whats good or bad in the HD recorders since i got my 910, so whats the best new sony model out now with a big hard drive i want it to be future proof if all possible greatfully for your trouble if you could point me to the right machine. In the mean time i have found this model RDRHXD1095B no idea if it's any good.

Check out the new range on the Sony website.
It does have a comparison checker.

Sony only really do the RDR-HXD series now and as you are probably aware they are all basically the same box, the only difference being the hard drive size for which you progressively pay more. When you look at the spec between the previous models and latest its hard to spot any real difference other than a new remote control model number.

Not sure what the spec of your 'old' HXD910 is but the only real advances I've noticed over the last three or four years have been: series link recording, HDMI connection with upscaling upto 1080p & Bravia Theatre Sync.

If you definately are going for a Sony then the only decision is about hard drive size. If it is to be the HX1095 then you will get a whopping 500GB drive which is obviously meant for the 'serious' TV recorder.
