Extrapolator

Having just watched (again) parting of the ways I noticed that the extrapolator was used to partially shield satalite 5. Which is fair enough, however when did the doctor remove it from the satalite and re-instal into the tardis.

We didn't see it, what we saw was the tardis turn up minus the extrapolator, bad wolf rose do her thing, and then straight back into the tardis in time for supper.

So what or how do you account for this?

Maybe the Doctor grabbed Rose with one arm and the extrapolator with the other?

Or he took Rose back into the TARDIS and nipped back out for the Extrapolator.

It's just one of those things that happened off camera and we have to assume took place.

Perhaps a bit of a Deus ex machina?

Or RTD forgot.

or maybe the TARDIS did it, it is alive - and wouldnt want to leave a bit of itself in a different time

Or maybe it really isn't all that important to telling the story?

What? An improbable contrivance in a story characterized by a sudden unexpected solution to a seemingly intractable problem...

More like it just happened off camera... hardly a Deus ex Machina... more like a regular , run of the mill, continuity blunder or slight production oversight.
