Well! Just saw the bbc strictly come dancing clip and I noticed this Tom guy did a cha-cha-cha pose (i.e. New York) with Camilla and there's a sense of deja vu! Wasn't Gethin wearing purple in his cha-cha number with Camilla?

At first I did a double take and thought it was Gethin's older brother or something!

Now that I have seen the line-up, I am getting excited again!

Call me shallow, even though I don't listen to s-pop-7 or whatever, but I think Rachel Stevens will do well with Vincent!

Poor Kristina Rihanoff (new pro)! She got the token old-man, John Sergeant!!!

Is it me or is Brian Fortuna (another new pro) looks like he could be a drag-queen?

This Hayley Holt and Mark Forster will be the 'star-couple' like last year's Kelly and Brendan!

Back to topic: Saw Tom doing an eye-popping-and-jaw-dropping Fred Astaire in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXFiFg2GX6w. Do you think it's fair to him to take part in SCD???

I don't know SCD-O...it could prove to be an albatros around his neck - especially if the Judges/viewers have high expectations & he doesn't deliver. If you're too good from the get-go then you're under constant pressure to maintain a certain standard, tend to be though of as safe/not needing the vote, people are perhaps less forgiving when you have a 'bad' week & you don't get that all important pity vote. Also you may not gain the support of those viewers who are all about the 'journey'.

I don't want to write off John Sergeant, but going on past years it doesn't look too good - it is usually the older contestants to bite the dust first You never know though - he could be surprisingly light on his feet & be a ballroom whizz

From the forumites' various threads, I am beginning to see female viewers 'gearing' towards his good looks (and Mark Froster as well). I believe if he only dances decently, the ladies will vote him in, and strangely enough, like Gethin, he may not be in the bottom two until the bitter end...

But I have to say, Camilla is very fortunate this year to get another chance at the trophy... Though I don't really like her as much as some other female pros, I think she really deserves to do well this year (i.e. at least getting into the finals) and I think Tom is likely her best bet - with looks (according to the ladies) and dance talent-wise...

Hello. Just want to add that I think this couple may have potential. Really like Tom. Think he looks like Orlando Bloom. Remember him from Paull O'Grady and really liked him on there. He has great potential but we will have to wait and see.

CANNOT wait for this. And I don't think there should be any reason why he can't take part..plenty of others had some form of dance training!

Feeling SO sorry for Kristina!

I feel for Ola- she is 5ft 3- Andrew is a foot taller- what will that look like

I must say I'm pleased that Camilla has got a good one- she is one classy lady and like Erin deserves a strictly trophy

I only hope Andrew will be the first GMTV presenter that can at least dance to the beat. In other words, I hope - for Ola's sake!!! - he's more a Spoony than a Logan!

I've been saying that for ages!!!

I love Tom anyway, he's one of my favourite characters in my guilty pleasure TV (I'm a nurse and Holby is rubbish. lol)

It isn't only me then!

I don't watch Holby at all but he seems like a really nice guy.

Tbf, Strictly wouldn't be the same without our original Judges, though it would be nice to refresh the Panel .

Arlene's going to have a field day She's fab, my favourite judge.

Soo excited to see Camilla and Tom's first dance!

Craig will have a field day too. In fact I have written Brucie's first gag "I can see one of the judges has an eye for you Tom....isn't that right Craig". Cue false laugh from judges.

I'm gald Camilla has someone decent. Shes had to work hard with David, Roger, Ray, James and Gethin to get them to some standard. Tom is already half way there I reckon. If she can transform Gethin as much as she did I reckon she could win it - even with the fmale voters votinbg for him like mad!

I hope Cam and Tom do really well this year - it looks like she's got a fab partner again! Good luck Cam!!

Ola and Camilla should totally swap partners

Not sure what the logic of those two partnerships is, unless it's a location issue. Andrew is really going to struggle with a partner so much smaller than him, and Ola had Kenny last year- does she not deserve a break this year? Camilla is nearer his height, and she continually gets good partners yet fails to get them to the final. This year the producers are all but handing it to her on a plate- why not give someone else a shot!

I'm hoping this will be Camilla's year - she's my favourite professional, and she's been so close in the past...

Camilla has not really had good partners. James and Gethin had potential but not until 8 week sin. It took alot of hard work. This year should be easier for her.

Completely agree with you Katie. Camilla has never got a really bad partner apart from David Dickinson and IMO does not get the best out of her partners.

I think that's simplifying things. Gethin certainly had more potential from the start than all the SCD5 male celebs with the possible exception of Matt. Ray was identified from week one of SCD4 as one of the men to watch, and came joint first that week in the marks.

All the male celeb partners take a lot of hard work, that's kind of the point! It's meant to be about teaching them to dance. I just don't rate Camilla as a Strictly pro- her choreography lets her celebs down.

James was rubbish from start to finish, I'll give you that.

Then she did as well as could have been expected, given that the only male celeb that got further than Gethin was Matt. Gethin and Camilla's average score with the judges was higher than Matt and Flavia's was too.

Personally, I think Camilla has given some really great routines - her "Mein Herr" Tango with James was certainly very memorable. Of course, it's all subjective - I don't much like Flavia or her choreography, but I don't think there'd be many who'd agree here.

Fine, I can't say I entirely agree she got the best from Gethin, but he got to the semi. So why does she "deserve" another chance to get to the final? Some people seem to imply it's because she's had such a tough deal with partners, but that's just total nonsense. I can't think of anyone who's had as good a run as she has.
