Oh, I don't think she deserves anything, myself - I'd just like to see her make it because I like her - nothing more to it than that.

Oh go and worship Karen or something, Katie_p.

I'd also like to see Camilla in the final. It seems she always falls short. Still, I'd LOVE and Ian-Camilla-someoneelse final.

The only reason people are saying they want Camilla in the final is coz they like Camilla... The same as everyone else wants their favourite pro in the final.

I want Cam in the final and would love Ian to be there too.

I think I've read your posts in the Camilla thread?

Yepp you probably will have done

I'm a huge fan and hate the same stick Cam gets every year - seems getting a partner to the semi final isn't enough. Ah well, just hope she can prove people wrong this year.

I have no problem people disliking Camilla. I dislike Karen. I think shes bossy. But what gets me is the critisism of her techiques and performances. At the end of the day, I never critise any of the pros professionally. They are the dancers, I'm not so who am I to judge.

I think Camilla gets far too much unneccessary criticism on these boards.

Not quite sure where that comes from as although I like Karen I'm not her biggest fan.

However, I am sorry if I have offended any Camilla fans. I will leave you guys to it and hope you enjoy the series

Wow, there seems to be some tension already!

Actually, truth be told, I think Camilla might be the 'problem' in the end. Ray is a case in point.

In point of fact, I only really remember her Mein Herr routine (from youtube as I didn't watch the first three series), and Gethin's salsa routine (and she looked 'wild' in it for the lack of a better word). The 'amazing grace' waltz routine was pretty but perhaps Gethin made it look too easy it was actually rather forgettable in some bizarre way.

I don't mean this as a slight on Camilla, but I actually think if Gethin is paired with Flavia, they might have walked away with the trophy.

Same with Tom. It does seem ladies are more forgiving of a guy celeb (as opposed to female ones) with dance experience. Last year, Matt wasn't slated as much as Kelly or Penny for his 'tap dance' experience.

BUT, you MUST agree that Tom's tap-dance routine was superb. And he's supposed to pay homage to FRED ASTAIRE!!! - the dance -god!

I thought Tom looked like Orlando Bloom too! So glad I'm not imagining things!

Now, I try not to be controversial but then I thought "Sod it!" for once.

The reason some people (me included ) would love to see Camilla in the final this year is because we feel she should have been in it last year! And that's my final word

Unless someone thinks they're hard enough ...

I love the way you say this isn't a slight on Camilla and then deliver a line like that Just what is it then if not a slight? How do you even know that Gethin and Flavia would have particularly got on well? I could just as easily say that Matt wouldn't have stopped halfway through a routine with Camilla as a pro partner...It's worthless conjecture

Ray is a case in point of what exactly? He had one off night and went the same way that Spoony went, in that he lost out to the vagaries of the public vote...It's happened again since and will happen again in future

Shame you appear to have missed the waltz - 39 points, VW - 36 points, smooth - 38points...They weren't too bad you know!

I assume he means he's not saying it just for the sake of having a dig at Camilla, but to express an opinion.

An opinion that does a good job of having a dig at Camilla at the same time then! Honestly katie-p, I don't mind criticism either but when it's based on such flimsy grounds I have to wonder at the motivation for it...

I don't remember these and don't really like them. Actually I like their foxtrot because he winked at the end.

I think Camilla may whip Matt into shape and not tolerate his sometime childish ways. But I agree this is just conjecture...

Peace. I like Camilla only when she dances with Ian. They did the pro jive very well. And the mcFly number was very cute.

edit to add: I also remember their rhumba number because of Buble's music (Lost). I remembered the second half of the routine when they both synchronized their hand movement, it looked romantic. As for their waltz, I can't see anything memorable, even though I recalled it was technically excellent. I remembered Matt Di Angelo's 'simpler' waltz routine and Alesha's version to the Romeo and Juliet music...

I'm not sure I'd agree it's based on flimsy grounds... however it is subjective, not fact, and obviously some (or even most) people are going to disagree.

Camilla has the record for the best Waltz and American Smooth. Gethin was NOT GREAT at the start. His performances lacked charsima. He always had teh frame for ballroom yes and picked up steps well but Flavia had an actor which made it easier for Matt to perform. She too would have struggled with Gethin. In the end, Camilla had turned Gethin into a dancer. They also looked great together.

You cannot say Flavia would have got to the final with Gethin as you have no way of knoiwing, She may of got him knocked out earlier.

He didn't say that though. He said

Again, just an opinion. It's allowed!

Thanks Katie!

I got increasingly amused and bemused at the apparent (now I say apparent!) defensiveness some forumites are here even before SCD6 starts.

People! Opinions are like arses. We all have one!

Camilla SHARES the record of Best Waltz with Flavia. If you strictly (pardon the pun) discount Christmas Special scores (which tend to be more generous), then Flavia is the one who holds the Best Waltz title, score-wise.

BUT, that said, I do think Cam's Christmas Waltz was pleasant. The music helps, some might disagree I know, but for me it adds to the 'gracefulness' of the routine. Like I said, I don't remember much of the dance except the beginning (where they 'slide' past one another, thought that was clever) and didn't like the ending (when they were down onto the floor). The middle, not much.

Being a guy, I don't normally remember what people wear. But I remember Gethin wearing those 'snowflakes' on one side of his tails.

So there. My arse... sorry, my opinion. <jk>

That's a great saying!

Just picked up on this:

Technically that's not really true. You either count the Christmas scores, in which case Camilla has the (joint) record for best Waltz but Lilia has the record for best American Smooth, or you don't, in which case Camilla has the record for American Smooth but Flavia has the record for best Waltz. You can't count Camilla's Christmas scores but no-one else's!

Personally, I think I'd like to see Camilla win from the fact she's been in it since the beginning and it'd be a nice reward (if you can say it like that) for the hard work over the series. I know it could be said with A&E, but Camilla has the higher standard of the 10 dances than those two, although I honestly know from watching Erin that she does try her hardest with latin, just potentially feel that even if Anton had someone amazing, he possibly still wouldn't win because of his latin, and maybe Erin doesn't always come across as..warm or whatever to the public. Maybe her over competitiveness can drive people away (possibly the same with Karen..I'm not slagging anyone off, just having an opinion)?

I think Tom's going to be determined, I just hope the gruelling schedule of the filming hours of Holby don't hold him back, I know from experience they often work 12 hour days or more.

I did some stats for Geths fan site which I help run and this is my reasearch.....I didnt count the christmas scores as not all the dancers from all the series take part so it doesnt seem appropriate.

Geth holds the highest score for the American Smooth across all series and all competitors with 38 points.

Geth is equal highest score for the Vienesse Waltz across all the male contestants in all series of 36 points (equal with Ramps)

Geth holds the highest score for the Jive across all male contestants in all series of 37 points.
